AIBU to get DD out of bed at 2am to look for tonight's meteor shower?

She is 6 and I think she would love it but its going to be chilly and quite a faff. Her dad already got her up last night but it was cloudy Confused so far it's looking clear and tonight is the peak!

The ISS is worth looking for, because you know where it will be and have a good chance of catching it.

Meteor showers are not, not really, not unless you really want to see them and are very patient (as a 6 yr old probably won't be). You can't scan more than a small bit of the sky at once, they don't come very often, and they are gone too quickly for someone to say over there and you to catch it.

I would definitely get DS up if he was your DD's age :)

We saw two last night.

I think I might have seen the space station too! There was something starlike that was moving across the sky, not a plane, but not nearly fast enough to be a meteor. Was that the space station then?
