To be baffled by Richard Gere's continuing career?

Ok, so he looked pretty hot in An Officer And A Gentleman but that does not excuse his on-going employment in the business that is show.

This man cannot convey any emotion. I know when he's trying really hard to Do Some Proper Acting, he kindly signposts it by blinking a lot and doing some heavy breathing. Oh Richard, Richard, Richard, the ghost of Laurence Olivier is rolling his eyes at you.

You make Keanu Reeves look like a seasoned Shakespearean thesp.

Also, he's not even that handsome, he looks like the assistant manager at a building society.

Any Gere fans who want to fight his corner?

Well, NOW he probably does. But at the time they made First Knight, he certainly didn't. He was looking pretty good then.

Oh, are we supposed to consider personality? Gere wouldn't win then either, I suppose. But I was being incredibly shallow and going on looks alone. Blush

Thanks LadyBeagleEyes for confirming my suspicions.

I will now happily continue in my dislike of Mr Gere without worrying that I've got him completely wrong.
