To be livid with my perfect husband?

DH really is very near perfect: kind, loving, intelligent, a SAHP, a great cook, does lots of housework uncomplainingly, lovely with our children, polite and well mannered, I could go on ad infinitum.

I am lazy, moody, out of humour with the children (and him) often, can't cook much etc etc.

Am I therefore totally U for being furious about him getting our flat in a complete state in a single day after I kept it as tidy and neat as it has ever been in the past couple of days I have been at home?

We will have people over at the weekend. There is a lot of shopping/cooking/baking to do. I begged him not to let the DCs trash the place/tidy after them. Now every single room is a tip. Including the kitchen after he made a (lovely) salad for dinner. The shopping I asked for for my baking is all wrong.

I know I am BU but I am posting here so I don't put this on facebook.

I know I sound like a real arse.

Your DH sounds like me....yes, I am also nearly perfect! No, seriously, I am a very good mum (not being boastful but I do make things nice and fun and active etc) but I am absolutely crap at keeping stuff tidy. It is so annoying for my DP. I feel for you but for him too! Well done for stay away from fbook!

YouTheCat · 08/08/2013 20:23
Hmm

Could you take on more as it's the holidays and being a SAHP in the holidays is bloody hard work?

Or is this a wind up?

Justforlaughs · 08/08/2013 20:25

You and your DH sound like me and my DH! And I'd be furious as well! Grin

kinkyfuckery · 08/08/2013 20:26

Surely if everything was clean and tidy beforehand, it won't take long to whizz around the house popping everything back where it should be.

One of you can do that whilst the other sorts out the kitchen?

Leeds2 · 08/08/2013 20:26

Pour the man a glass of wine!

MarianneM · 08/08/2013 20:27

Not a wind up.

It's just that coming home from work I was frustrated at having to tackle the usual bombsite before starting with the party prep.

But you are all of course right, and I will have to tell DH MN is behind him Grin

Ha ha! I have half a mind to post pictures of our place here.

I'm the SAHP in our house, and I do keep the house tidy.

However, on the occasions DH comes home to mess, he doesn't say a word. I don't have to explain what I've been doing if the house isn't immaculate there's always a good reason why!

You do kinda sound like a complete arse, but the fact that you would write the post as you did (talking up his good points and emphasising your own bad ones) suggest to me you're probably not one at all.

YABU for sure (the houe can't be that much of a mess it can't be cleaned tonight), but it's almost like you want us to give you a telling off. Hope you're alright, you sound more angry at yourself than him.
