for one that is different cause I'm bored in my current job and need something more taxing? I do like my job but it's the same thing day in, day out...

Do you have children/dependants? If it's just you that you need to worry about then why not! If you have dependants I would really think long and hard about it, job security seems to be at an all time low and if I had a well paid job that fit in with childcare etc. I would not leave it in the current economic environment.

Do you mean leave your job as in you have a new one to go to, or to just walk out of your job with nothing on the table? Because those are two very different situations...

I have a 3 year old DS who is in nursery, I've seen a job advert today and quite like the look, DP is in the army so I'm pretty much a single parent.

What Wilson said. If your DP earns enough that you don't need to worry about your income then maybe you should.

If your income contributes significantly to the household pot I wouldn't chuck a job in until you've lined up a new one. Its pretty brutal out there in the job market and it may take you several rejections before you get offered something.

Apply for it by all means, particularly if you're bored where you are now its good to be interested in your work but don't assume its yours until you have something in hand.
