To be sulking after going to the dentist?

I've just been to the dentist for a check-up. I have a big filling that needs replacing. Fine.

Dentist, who is new, said he couldn't see any other problems but would do some X rays on my teeth just in case. After which he decides I need FOUR other fillings. He asked if I eat loads of sweets and drink fizzy drinks. I wish I did. At least that would be fun.

AIBU to sulk for the rest of the day?

YANBU dentists often seem to make me feel. But try and cheer up and get on with your day, its not worth worrying about.

Have some sympathy, Wasapea. Imagine having to go through life actually being a dentist.

Yanbu - I think they would inspire more confidence if they were more positive and encouraging. I always come away feeling demoralised, that my oral hygiene is disgusting and put off the next appointment for as long as possible rather than going as regularly as I should. And that said I haven't had a filling for 17 years although I know I definitely need one right now.

I brush twice a day, floss twice a week, try to be thorough and yet I'm always told my oral hygiene is poor.

YANBU. I usually wallow a bit after the dentist. I bought myself a flashy electric toothbrush to cheer myself up the last time I had to have a few fillings, then the next time I went I didn't need any Grin
