Wish he'd go to bloody work!

DP pulled a sickie the last two days - he was feeling run down, work's been crazy for months, and since he never takes time off I let it slide. But now he said he's taking today off too, even though he feels fine. I'm sick of having him around the house!

He's just going to laze around in his underwear, watching tv while I do what I do every bloody day. I even asked him to take over with DS today because I didn't sleep well (got about 4 hours) and he claims he didn't either. Sorry love, but I can't just take 3 days off because I'm tired!

And I'm actually awake now, no chance I'd be able to go back to sleep.

AIBU to bugger off out for the day and leave him with DS? Could use some time to myself.

Whats going on at work that he doesnt want to be there?

DocMarten · 07/08/2013 08:56

YANBU to bugger off and enjoy a day out without him and DS. He has had 2 days lazing about, and feels fine today, so it is your turn.

DocMarten · 07/08/2013 08:57

And it will guaranteee he will be back at work like a shot tomorrow! Grin

gamerchick · 07/08/2013 08:57

I would.. Leave him with the bairn and go do your own thing for today.

Will guarentee him going into work tomorrow at least.

YANBU

This makes me FUME. Make him watch 'How to Live Like a German' on the iplayer. No wonder our economy is fucked with people pulling sickies all over the place. If he has issues with his work he needs to take it up with them and get it resolved. I'm not going to even start on all the jobseekers who would jump at the chance to undertake a days paid work. Fume fume.

grumpyinthemorning · 07/08/2013 09:17

It's ongoing issues with the client (work's a call centre, so his company is hired by the client). He's just been swamped, working all the hours god sends, plus a daft commute time. I understand him needing the time to recharge. There's no way he can resolve these issues, it would cost him his job if he said anything. Client is always right Sad

He has to go in tomorrow anyway, has to do performance reviews on his underlings.

I do sympathise. It's not just his fault - crappy management practices and ridiculous demands on a bare-bones work force is making it impossible for many people to cope at work. Massive commutes suck too.

We need to take a more long-sighted approach to business as a nation and maybe then you wouldn't have to endure this intolerable underwear lazing!

Throw said child at dh.

Run out the door with rockets on your heels.

No asking needed.

Lazy toad!

DO IT OP!!!

(isn't he going to need a doc certificate for 3 days off?)

grumpyinthemorning · 07/08/2013 09:40

Right, ringing round to see who's free, fancy going for a nice lunch, maybe a stroll round the shops. Might go to the cinema. Or even (gasp) the pub! Grin

Just have to hope some people have the day off work...

It will be nice for him to have some time with his dc.
Off you pop.

allmycats · 07/08/2013 09:51

'He has to do a performance review on his underlings' !!!! so he will go into work. Something wrong here then. Certainly glad he does not work
for my DH.
He took the job, he knew that commute so he can't complain about that aspect of his work and if he has too much work to do how on earth will taking time off help him - surely he will be even further behind when he gets back, or will his 'underlings' have to mop it up for him.

grumpyinthemorning · 07/08/2013 09:55

Ok, underlings was meant in jest (they call themselves that. Or minions). I have no idea how far behind he'll be, but I've told him he's not allowed to complain about it!

He had the job before we moved here, should be moving closer this year, but the commute honestly isn't something we could control.
