Watching "Fill your house for free" and can't help wondering, not only, who has the time but who really wants a washing machine drum coffee table? Hmm

I love it.

Anything which stops people buying new shiny shite is fine by me.

I only like second hand stuff. I've had loads out of skips/from the dump/freecycle/eBay.

What depresses me is I know the new people are going to move into my house and rip out the 80's solid pine kitchen as its 'not modern' - it's solid fucking wood! Beautifully painted in a Farrow and Ball colour.

And the fucking house I'm moving to has a shitty modern veneered kitchen that will costs fortunes to replace the crappy but expensive doors - just priced up a veneered taupe door on b and q website - 105 quid a door!

Kirstie's Fill Your House For Free

PeppaTwig I think I must be being thick because I can't see a grammatical error? Blush

MrButtercat · 06/08/2013 21:35

Love the show but her outfit choices not so much. However all power to her couldn't give a shit attitude to print mixing.

babiesinslingseathair · 06/08/2013 21:37

Can't spot a grammar issue either...

KurriKurri · 06/08/2013 21:37

Is Kirsty's own house full of 'upcycled' shiteola? - I think not.

I saw this for the first time tonight - it is dreadful. I'm all for recycling (not upcycling that is an appalling word) stuff, but make a decent job of it FGS. That dressing table and that kitchen table were total shite.

There's a bloke on one of the freeview channels (sort of beardy bloke IIRC) who makes stuff out of reused stuff and he is brilliant, real craftsmanship, because he takes time and does the job properly. He doesn't nail fence posts onto a bit of MDF and shout 'Ta da, - a table'
If you are into recycled furniture I'd recommend his programme (which unfortunately I can't remember the name of Blush)

Also - what was all that 'we spent £400 bollocks at the end. If you don't have any money, you don't have a spare £400, free should mean free or very nearly free.

Beastofburden · 06/08/2013 21:40

It's like that superscrimpers programme. Full of ways to make varnished tea trays and doilies by spending hours cutting up some other bit of tat. WTF even wants varnished tea trays in the first place?

thenightsky · 06/08/2013 21:42

I think it might be the 'For' free? Stuff is just 'free' or it isn't. If it isn't then it cost something which would require the word 'for'. I think Grin

IneedAyoniNickname · 06/08/2013 21:45

nightsky Do you mean it should be called "fill your house free" because that doesn't sound right Confused

I can't see an error in the title either.

babiesinslingseathair · 06/08/2013 21:45

Oh I see, it should be for no cost. Yup.

Shitsinger · 06/08/2013 21:49

Hahahaha KenDodds < eyes cat litter tray and its lovely treasures>

SarahAndFuck · 06/08/2013 21:51

I've just watched the show and couldn't remember the name of it, let alone find the grammatical error in it. Blush

Shitsinger · 06/08/2013 21:55

OMG Superscrimpers rub some moisturiser into a pair of old boots you bought in 1989 and they will look like new... no they look like a pair of crappy out of date old boots that you bought in 1989 and rubbed moisturiser into< ahem>

or make a necklace out of paperclips

squoosh · 06/08/2013 21:56

I adore the crappy Superscrimpers tips!

Onesleeptillwembley · 06/08/2013 21:58

Superscrimpers is ace; 'Poo leaning to one side then only wipe half your bum, thus halving your toilet roll bill'.

Shitsinger · 06/08/2013 21:59

squoosh do you make lavender bags out of old hankies for presents then ? Grin

Shitsinger · 06/08/2013 22:01

Stop it One sleep Grin

squoosh · 06/08/2013 22:02

Oh I must try that. Last Christmas I made all my family members a desk tidy each out of a yogurt pot that I covered in some jazzy paper!

I didn't really

Onesleeptillwembley · 06/08/2013 22:02

What? (innocent emoticon).

Saffyz · 06/08/2013 22:09

None of the things are "free", they involve travel, time, and people doing work. Stuff doesn't restore itself.

thenightsky · 06/08/2013 22:10

Ineed not 'Fill your house free', rather 'fill your house for nothing' or 'fill your house for no cost' or 'free stuff for your house'.

If you use the word 'for' then it should actually be for something not nothing.

Shitsinger · 06/08/2013 22:13

What can I make out of one old husband and a scruffy cat ?

Sparklingbrook · 06/08/2013 22:14

Ooh good thinking Shitsinger. What can I make out of a grumpy teenager?

thenightsky · 06/08/2013 22:15

shit can you stuff scruffy DH's jumper with cat hair and make some kind of cushion?

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 06/08/2013 22:16

Can't stand it. IF it is not shiny and new from John Lewis, I don't want to know. :)

EmpireBiscuit · 06/08/2013 22:17

I have one useless, lazy numpty I'd be willing to trade?
