Not in the same way that I would want to do the most filthy and unspeakable kinky things with Matt Smith, or even bent over and pummelled until my eyes burst like with Philip Glenister. BUT perhaps more of a quiet secret thing for your mate's dad/university lecturer kind of way?

AIBU?

My DD is 20 and loves Peter Capaldi. She was almost beside herself at the thought of him as the doctor. She seems to really like mature men.

TroublesomeEx · 07/08/2013 07:02

I had a rather filthy crush on my university lecturer...

Thanks itchywoolyjumper Grin

Totally agree about Paul McGann, what a waste... he's another massive crush of mine since Withnail & I days... sigh... beautiful...

I've foolishly been rewatching some of the earlier episodes of Thick Of It...the way he says "darling". Oh how the knees go a bit funny. He's got such a nice accent! I've not always been a fan of Glaswegian accents but he's got such a lovely soft tone.

peanutMD · 09/08/2013 08:02

Nah he's not do bad.

He's an ambassador of a childrens charity I happen to have links with, just to make him more swoon worthy :o

IfIonlyhadsomesleep · 09/08/2013 08:06

Yanbu, but I think you owe it to Samuel West to dump him before you take up with Mr Capoldi!

SamuelWestsMistress · 09/08/2013 08:23

Well, you know...treat them mean keep them keen and all that jazz!

I actually think he's better looking now than he was when he was younger. Not that I've been trawling the Internet or anything...

Shock
Snapespeare · 09/08/2013 14:54

i didn't want to do filthy things to Matt Smith at first.... I think a lot of it is to do with being the doctor and the fact that he's brave and has integrity is a fairly large factor in his attractiveness. On that basis... Peter Capaldi would absolutely get it.

SamuelWestsMistress · 10/08/2013 07:48

I think you're spot on there Snapespear.

Oh dear. Well, stealth boast here - Peter Capaldi looks quite a bit like my dh!! Imagine a cross between him and Alistair Campbell. So I def would. Grin

SamuelWestsMistress · 10/08/2013 10:38

Good work Pixie! I hope you parade him around proudly?

YANBU, have had a crush on him since about 1982 and Local Hero...., he is lovely.

Pixieonthemoor · 10/08/2013 11:01

Oh yes. Pretty chuffed with my choice!! Wink

Sandychick31 · 21/09/2013 21:22

All I am saying is that I developed an HUGE crush on an actor back in 1997 and this actually helped me in RL:

a) stand up to my bullying parents
b) leave an abusive relationship

Far from being unreasonable, I think crushes can help us in many ways….

AmIthatHot · 21/09/2013 21:37

No, Local Hero and The Crow Road (the best BBC drama in a fuckin long time} have catapulted Peter into the consciousness of the British public. His wife is a Scottish actress (Pure dead brilliant, so she is) and he is totally hot

Nancy66 · 21/09/2013 21:38

He's very fanciable. I think, for me, it's def the Malcolm Tucker thing though.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy was on TV the other night and all I could think of was: 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Cunt.'

AmIthatHot · 21/09/2013 21:57

Nancy, you should try and see him in the Crow Road, he wqas delicious.

But, it does beg the question, what on earth happened to Joe McFadden, those eyes, that voice. He was gorgeous too

Actually, if anyone is looking to while away 3 hours, The Crow Road is sublime,. Joe McFadden, Peter Capaldi, Paul Young, Bill Patterson, Dougray Scott and the wonderful Argyll scenery.

My guilty pleasure

PomBearArmy · 21/09/2013 21:57

I hope I develop one. DS insists I watch Doctor Who with him, it would make the shows go by a bit quicker.

mrsmalcolmreynolds · 21/09/2013 22:36

Local Hero is one of my all time favourite films. Have to say I prefer the young (ish) Dennis Lawson in it to Peter C though. Outstanding soundtrack too!
