A few years ago my friends son (who was then 16) went to a shop and tried to buy 2 dvds. One was a PG, one a 12 and the other a 15. They point blank refused to sell him the PG because he did not have an adult with him even though they let him buy the 12 dvd and the 15.

I know it is a few years ago now but this story always sticks in my mind and this is the perfect place to ask.

Were they being unreasonable?

Sorry I meant 3 dvds not 2!

Very odd! I thought pg would be irrelevant once a child got to 12? otherwise should I have my mum with me still-I'm 31!

That's exactly what I thought! What is going to be in a PG film that is worse than a 15? Nothing!! Glad you agree!

Lol at the fact this still bothers you!!

My dad once pointed out a 'mistake' in a TV show. Later that day I figured out it wasn't a mistake, and thought about explaining it to him later, but I forgot. It then popped into my head at random times for years, until one day I said to him, 'Dad, I need to say something to you that's been going round in my head for years...' My poor dad looked really apprehensive. Imagine his confusion when I said, 'You remember that epsiode of The Bill...?'

YANBU!

Ha ha it's not that it still bothers me I'm just more curious as to why they wouldn't sell it and think it's quite funny and bizarre!

Lol your Dad must have been worried about what you were going to come out with! It's weird how things stick in your mind...I just feel I needed to get some closure ;)
