AIBU to think that wiping your dog's bottom is unnecessary?!

So, out for a peaceful stroll today and I saw a woman bend down and wipe her pooch's bum with toilet paper. Wtf! Is this normal because I've never owned a dog and having to do this would certainly put me off.

Yet another reason not to have a dog. I have wiped many bottoms but dog is not on the list and never will be - grim

I once had to pull a turd out off dog's arse. I swear there was a loud pop.

I had to pull a turd out of dd's arse when she was a baby.

But she was a baby, not a puppy, still gross but a world of difference. I would love a dog but the whole arse wiping and turd thing really puts me off

What other option? He was struggling. I was fed up of waiting. I did use a poo bag.

Once in 6 years. Not much.

Although he did roll in something gross today.
