To despise Kerry Katona so much??

I don't normally have much of a view on celebs etc (although I actually quite admire Katie Price as she is obviously a very clever lady to make a business and so much money so I reckon the dum blonde thing is just a very very clever act!)

But.... I just read an article in a magazine (Drs surgery waiting room - yes yes I know these magazines print a lot of crap!) about Kerry Katona.

Apparently she is worried how she will cope now that she has been declared bankrupt for the second time.

Apparently (I'll stop saying that now as I'd have to add it to the beginning if every sentence) her out goings are 10k a month!!! That includes a nanny and employing her boyfriend as a driver!!

Now this is where I don't get it...... She was made bankrupt in 2009.... Why the hell is she allowed to spend so much money now?? I'm thinking of the poor companies that got ripped off when her debts got written off last time only for her to continue her lavish lifestyle!
Grrrrrrr rant over!

when you are bankrupt you still have to pay back all your creditors, it doesn't all get written off.

Rare but I have a lot of empathy for her as it happens. I just look at her and think "you poor little girl". brought up in care, a feckless mother, not sure if she even had a father, then finds herself in the limelight with no one to look after her. She was a car crash waiting to happen.

TBH she is an extreme example of poor parenting, the care system, multiple loser blokes, unable to handle money.

What she actually needs is a strong female figure in her life - a proper and decent mother.

Surely she's the one choosing to keep herself in the limelight?? Other ex-celebs seem to have been able to return to normal lives, with normal jobs and normal houses. I don't know anything about any other issues she had/had I'm only going on one article which said that her monthly outgoing were £10k even after being bankrupt the first time.

having lots of kids by her many partners and using the kids for self promotion. She brings the men into the lives of the children, they must be confused. And it worries me that there are girls who aspire to be like these slebs.

I used to read those magazines too Sparkling. Then I discovered MN and I've saved myself a fortune on them ever since.

The court will decide what is reasonable for her to live on when paying back debtors though. I remember when Nick Leeson (??) brought down Barings bank he was allowed £5K a month - a fantastic sum back in the early 90's.

So it's all relative - speculating that Kerrys kids may have school fees to be paid? 10K to keep 6 people is not extravagant.

I agree with you . my monthly outgoing are similar and if I got in a financial state and made bankrupt I would drastically cut back. lose the nanny. kids out if private school. drive myself or get a bus. get rid if the cleaner. get rid of sky etc. she appears to have done none if those the first time and so apparentky is a stupid entitled idiot. I mean, all those cars and motorbikes she bought that idiot when she had 4 young kids and was about to go bankrupt, not to mention all the coke. I am afraid I have no respect for someone like her even if only half the trash in the magazines is true.

I don't know much about KK - but I do know that I despise that utter b***d from Westlife that she first married. Took himself off for the good life to Australia with his new lady and then has the gall to criticise her parenting! She obviously wasn't a bad enough parent for him to come back and do his bloody job properly...

I have no time for Brian McFadden either.

I feel for Kerry upto a point. She had a bad start, her two husbands were shits. She does her best. She has little support. And has bipolar.

I do not feel sorry for her as its sooooo obvious this new guy is another Mark. She is still looking for Daddy in a Man. She is now in her thirties and has had plenty of various therapies, with no obvious progress. What is to blame her or the therapists I don't know. She still wants to be a victim we should pity, she's too long in the tooth now for that game.

Teddy, yes I read the article which explained a few things but I still don't understand why she needs to live in a 3 million pound mansion that she is renting?? If it was in London then ok(ish) but I think it said Wigan and I'm guessing that you could rent somewhere for slightly less than £7000 per month??? Although I loved that the article said that she was wearing 'exercise clothing' ahem Jeremy Kyle

The cash lady thing makes me want to put my foot through the telly.

I do sort of feel for her as she seems compulsively drawn from one fuck up to the next. Just like make normal folk but she has her fuck ups in the public eye. Must be tempting when you might get a few quid.

I also used to love a bit of Heat sparkling but I have no idea who anyone is. I was bitterly disappointed at my most recent hairdressers appointment when rather than hand me closer, now and heat they handed me Elle and good housekeeping.

YABU - it's really mean to judge someone else when you've never lived a day of their life. She has bipolar anyway and one of the symptoms of bipolar is overspending - Stephen Fry often talked about his bipolar related overspending. He doesn't have a family so it doesn't impact on children in his case.

The only article i read about her a few years ago she was saying that her daughters had found their christmas presents before christmas. To punish them she made them stay on their own in their bedroom for most of Christmas Day. She seemed to think this was fine in the article.

I find her intensely irritating although her inheritance tracks on Radio 4 Sat Live earlier this year made me at least see she had an awful, terrible time as a child and I wouldn't wish that on any child.
Agree that those misogynist rags are best avoided but we all do it sometimes

I think she had a very damaged childhood, she's bi polar as well.
I watched her the year she was in I'm a celeb which she went onto to win and she was lovely and so in love with Brian and her family.
Shortly afterwards he dumped her, I think she spends half her life just keeping her head above water.
I wish her happiness in the future, she needs it and needs to get rid of the hangers on and users that surround her.
Katie Price is totally different, she is a tough business woman who knows exactly what she's doing.
Poor little Kerry hasn't a clue.
