To want to smash it to pieces

DP is obsessed with a computer game and it's driving me insane! He has played it solidly without a break for the last 3 hours. I worked out in the last 24 hours he has played it for about 8 hours in total. I just asked him (again) to please turn it off as its getting ridiculous, he grunted. I said does he not think 8 hours out of 24 is too much (no) and can we please have a conversation (grunt). AIBU to be absolutely furious and want to smash the bloody thing. (I know that's not the right thing to btw, just wish I could!)

Ok, that would annoy me too. We don't get so engrossed that we ignore the rest of the family totally. Definitely make sure you get your point across that he should be participating in family life and it should be more important than the game.

Sorry, moment, it's a wee bit worrying. If you think about the last time you did something solidly for 3 hours with your DP there...

Thanks for the idea Yoni!
I'm not sure whether he glanced at my post over my shoulder but he's now remorseful and said we will go on a day out tomorrow so maybe the message has got through. Thank you lovely people for listening to my rant and offering suggestions and hammers! I better get to bed soon as looks like busy day ahead tomorrow.

DP and I often do separate things for 3 hours with each other there! You don't have to do stuff together ALL the time.

OP I'm glad you're having a family day out tomorrow :) You should look at getting some time just for you as well though - you deserve it too!
