to expect Clarkes to have a wider choice of styles

We went into Clarkes today to have my DD's feet measured and hopefully buy her a pair of shoes.

No such luck. I don't know why I thought it would be so easy. They had a choice of three pairs in her size. DD is going into Year 7 and is a size 7 shoe. Of course she didn't like any of the three pairs they had and I can't say I blamed her - they weren't all that.

AIBU to expect a large retailer like Clarkes to have more choice. I understand that a size 7 is a bit more unusual for a child but boys have big feet and I'm sure there are lots of girls with bigger feet.

Has anyone got any suggestions on where I can take her? She obviously wants a fashionable pair but they have to last and fit properly.

YADNBU. And it's worse for boys!

Can you find some smaller, boutique shops, we have a few around here - soooo much nicer!

Was there nothing in Clark' s adult styles?
I am an 8 and tend to buy shoes from DM ( they do a fashion range as well as the work boots). A lot of their styles would work as school shoes.

Clarks a pile of crap. They expect you to buy whatever they have in the right size, no matter how hideous and unless your child's feet are unusually wide the fitting thing is a load of horse manure too.

Do you have any independent shoe stores or a John Lewis nearby?

Clarks is so over rated it really it I know people swear by them but there is other shops to get shoes with a wider range imo my dds never had clark shoes when they were younger and their feet are not deformed
