As above really is it too late?

Hoover the lawn? Why would you Hoover it? Think up til 9pm is ok anyway

Pancakeflipper · 30/07/2013 18:58

Do you mean hover or hoover?

You take cleaning very seriously don't you?

LaurieFairyCake · 30/07/2013 18:59

Only if you post a video

Especially if you're also wearing a tinfoil hat

LuisSuarezTeeth · 30/07/2013 19:00

I do mine at 3am so nobody sees.

cheesecheeseplease · 30/07/2013 19:00

Our lovely new glass table flew over in the wind on sat night and broke all over the garden :( so yes I mean Hoover unfortunately Angry

It's fairly unreasonable to vacuum your lawn at any time of day.

picnicbasketcase · 30/07/2013 19:01

Perfectly fine. As long as you do it after polishing the chimney and ironing the front door.

Ericaequites · 30/07/2013 19:01

Do you have plastic turf? Hovering would then make sense. They say AstroTurf is more ecofriendly, but I don't see how. If you don't water or fertilize, grass or grass like substance seems best.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 30/07/2013 19:01

oh, x post Grin

won't glass knacker your vacuum cleaner?

RobotHamster · 30/07/2013 19:01

My neighbor used to Hoover the lawn for 45 mins twice a week. He'd then drag his ancient tv out the back door and watch Emmerdale at full volume in his garden.

Tee2072 · 30/07/2013 19:01

No, it's not too late. It is odd, however.

Perhaps sweep?

Ericaequites · 30/07/2013 19:01

I mean Hoovering. Americans vacumn the floor, curtains, under couch cushions etc.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 30/07/2013 19:02

Don't do it you'll bugger the Hoover.
[other brands of suction devices are available]

Pancakeflipper · 30/07/2013 19:02

You will have to do that at midnight in case anyone sees you... I doubt hoovering will get all the glass in the grass.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 30/07/2013 19:07

I've hoovered the oven before. And the toaster.

Live life on the edge, me. Grin

Capitola · 30/07/2013 19:07

I wouldn't as it will probably break your vacuum cleaner.

My cousin has an astro turf lawn and he can vacuum that.

cheesecheeseplease · 30/07/2013 19:08

How do I get rid of the glass then if I can't Hoover? Or vacum?

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 30/07/2013 19:15

I've vacuumed up glass, although not from the lawn. It's never broken my hoover. Which is actually a Dyson.

Hegsy · 30/07/2013 19:20

Not sure. I've hoovered glass before but only little bits. Is it big bits? Could you rake it up then use a small dustpan or something?

LuisSuarezTeeth · 30/07/2013 19:20

I'm thinking the moisture from the lawn and soil would cause problems more than the glass. I see your dilemma though. Could you borrow a garden vac?

cheesecheeseplease · 30/07/2013 19:23

No not big bits have got rid of all of those, it's shattered windscreen style. And left lots of little sharp bits Sad Hoover is a dyson so may try it.

Some people will have young children going to sleep at 7pm, so I think it's too late.

selsigfach · 30/07/2013 20:40

Not too late, and it's hardly going to be that noisy. Neighbours would be just in complaining about a rave, but a spot of hoovering? I would think my neighbours very odd (and ignore them) if they said I couldn't Hoover lest it waken pfb.

marriedinwhiteisback · 30/07/2013 20:45

I used to hoover the patio (sand) with a portable black and decker hoover thing - sandpit. If you've had rain today I wouldn't tbh. Rake the worst off and then hand pick the rest and make sure the dc wear shoes for a few weeks.

HollyBerryBush · 30/07/2013 20:47

My next door neighbour has a garden vacuum - he hoovers at 7am on a Sunday morning. This annoys me.
