:(

I am sick of picking up and tidying up
making food
unpacking bags of crap - my daughter is autistic (with sld) and just fills up bags with random crap, washing, shoes, bits of paper - anything
making beds, washing beds, being moaned at
why does the toilet smell more as well?
why is everything such a mess. It was fine last week

I am not even a tidy clean fraek

My house looks like it's been ransacked too.

They're all out today so I should really make the most of it and tidy up a bit, but I'm not sure where to start so am procrastinating on MN instead

IShallWearMidnight · 30/07/2013 10:16

mine isn't too bad as had to tidy yesterday in preparation for DD3s sleepover last night. But they were outside in the tent, so the house stayed reasonably clear Wink. Am leaving the tent till later in the week though, can't face the sweet wrapper mountain.

num3onway · 30/07/2013 10:17

Mines always bad be it holidays or not

Really wish I was a domestic goddess

SugarMiceInTheRain · 30/07/2013 10:23

I'm no clean freak by a long shot, but mine looks much worse. Apart from the kitchen, which looks presentable because DH blitzed it on Sunday and I've only cooked one meal since then Grin

I could tidy now, as the DSs are happily watching a DVD, but really, what's the point?

kezLOU1977 · 30/07/2013 10:27

Ahhhh glad my house isn't the only one to sport this look ;)

ThePowerof3 · 30/07/2013 10:28

My daughter loves filling up bags too, I find them everywhere!

thefuturesnotourstosee · 30/07/2013 10:30

Mine too.

I've bought some huge plastic boxes and Im shoving stuff into them until I have the energy to sort it all out.

As for the washing how is it there is so much more of the stuff? They wear clothes during term time to don't they?

freddiefrog · 30/07/2013 10:35

I have a bag filler too.

She has a better handbag collection than me, and they're all full of random stuff. I spent 3 weeks looking for the TV remote before finding it in one of her bloody bags.

I've shoved the worst of it in the understairs cupboard, it'll all be dragged out again later, so what's the point of putting any effort in?

Owllady · 30/07/2013 10:35

my washing pile is horrendous! and I have justy found pants down the back of the sofa Hmm not mine I hasten to add, chance would be a fine thing:o

we are lucky enough to be going away but i know very well i will stay in a minimised down cottage and then come back and find my house over cluttered, smelly and plain disgusting Blush

Absolutely sick of picking up after everyone they ignore when I nag obv need to try another way

ThePowerof3 · 30/07/2013 10:46

My DD1 is six and doesn't have autism and has always loved filling bags, DD2 does it too to a lesser extent and she isn't autistic either

BlackeyedSusan · 30/07/2013 10:47

ahh, now burglars. my children have made preparations. they have booby -trapped the living room with a scattering of duplo and toys. we do a good line in freshly burgled.

freddiefrog · 30/07/2013 10:48

I have 2 DDs, the eldest isn't, and has never been a bag filler. Youngest has been obsessed with bag filling forever it seems like.

DD1 isn't autistic, neither is DD2, but she is dyspraxic

aldiwhore · 30/07/2013 10:49

The housewrecked feeling was one of the reasons I went back to work, and one of the reasons why I take my annual leave outside of the holidays if I can!! (I work part-time)

Every morning I'm starting with a 'all hands on deck' houseblitz (the loo stinks frankly and needs doing 2plus times a day) and after dinner in the evening we have a generally tidy.

I do not tidy up during the day as it's a pointless task.

elliejjtiny · 30/07/2013 11:43

Glad it's not just me. The community nurse is coming to weigh DS4 tomorrow and I'm beginning to wish I had chosen to go to the baby clinic instead of having a home visit. Mind you, taking 4 DC's into town wouldn't have been fun either.

MovingForward0719 · 30/07/2013 13:29

I have two children. The youngest one has autism and I always assume the noise, mess, chaos etc is down to him. I have booked my older child into holiday club this week, a bit of respite for him from the strains of being a sibling of a child with ASD. My house is quiet. My house is tidy and clean. I have had quality time with my little man AND got stuff done. Lol don't have the heart to mention any of this to my older son!!!

MovingForward0719 · 30/07/2013 13:32

Ps my little man doesn't fill bags. He used to do a nice line on chucking toothbrushes down the loo and valuable in the bin but fortunately has outgrown this now :-)

youarewinning · 30/07/2013 13:45

Look on the bright side - all of our burgled look houses are unlikely to get burgled because....

a. they look already done over so burglers will think there's nothing left, or failing that

b. they can't actually get in the house because there's so much on the floor, or

c. If they get past a and b they won't be able to find anything to burgle as it's buried.

Waffling · 30/07/2013 13:50

d. Anything valuable will be hidden in one of 487 handbags. The fuckers'll never find them.

GemmaTeller · 30/07/2013 13:52

...thats what ours looks like within 48 hours of DSD coming home from uni Smile

Owllady · 31/07/2013 11:46

haha youarewinning and waffling, that's so true :o

I've had a blitz this morning because it was having a negative effect on my mental health!! But after I cleaned the whole house the children kindly got out piles of toys and set them up ready for their friends to come and play. They set up at 10. 4 hours before their friends are due to arrive! They keep touching each others stuff and knocking it over. Praying 4 children is easier than 2!

LaundryLegoLunch · 31/07/2013 12:32

Ah me too! Stuff is everywhere. Cups, shoes, books, toys. It's bad enough from my 5 and 6 yr olds but on top I have a 20month toddler whose life mission is to rearrange our living space - toothbrush in the fridge, tin of beans on the sofa, jigsaw in the bath.

I think I need to just accept it. We've got some time away coming up and then it'll make the start of term even sweeter Grin
