Hi, just over a week ago we (me, dh,dd13,dd8)was sadly woken at 4am by a huge fire started in between my house and neighbours house.... It's an area not used by the public and was not started by a electrical fault etc.... Fire officer has said it was under suspicious circumstances, so called the police.
They came and to be honest are not one but interested, they asked if anyone has a grudge against us, we said no (not as far as I know) he then gave us the advice which was.... Keep looking over your shoulders!!!
So, aibu to take this further and complain.... Would it getus anywhere?
I am struggling to sleep and have panic attacks.....

The problem with the fire service saying to you "yeah it must be deliberate" is quite often they won't commit to saying that to the police, therefore without it there is no crime to investigate. I have seen it time and time again

I feel for you, must be worrying

Were there bin bags in the space perhaps waiting for bin day? I had firemen in for the free fire alarms and safety check and they said never to put bin bags out early, apparently people think it's funny to set light to them Confused

Yoni- no bin bags in area, it was a bit of a 'no mans land' area split between me and neighbour.
We both had shed type containers with cushions, deck chairs stored in them.
A few weeds and that's all... It was fenced off too.
The other side if property has gate to back garden , bins etc, so I believe if someone was targeting me and my family they could of started it that side with no harm to others,
Or they could of targeted my car etc
