To think the Great British Bake Off should not be starting next month

It's a cosy, autumn/winter, back to school, nights darkening type programme and should be starting in mid/lat September when we're all packing away our flip flops and sun tan lotion and starting to settle back into a routine and drawing the curtains at 4.30 and putting the heating back on.

I have to say I totally agree with the op it's a lovely rain swept windy night programme !Got to say am not keen on PH or MB being on it any more him because he is not very nice to ppl on there and her because she stuck up for PH by saying 'boys will be boys' after his marriage broke up, what a thing to say! Does that mean that they should be allowed to behave badly because they are boys ? I didn't like her saying that one bit.

Lackedpunchesforever · 29/07/2013 22:47

I'm torn. I hate PH and the way he has behaved.
But it's my favourite program EVER Sad

Madeyemoodysmum · 29/07/2013 23:13

It's always been on in summer hasn't it?

It finishes in time for strictly to start a few weeks later, this year it's about six weeks later than usual I'm sure.

As if low carbing isn't hard enough

I think it should start in late Sept and run until late November. At the moment it ends in October which is waay too early. You can talk about tents and strawberry flans all you like; it is still a comforting mic-winter type programme.

Love this programme, I first found it in 2011 when pfb was born in October and we ended up watching it back to front on iplayer as we had missed the first few.

DC2 is due on 3rd Dec so might record it and save it until then so DH and I can watch it when it's properly cold and No2 is feeding for England! Grin

It staggers me how amazing and huge some of the showstoppers have been over the years. I can cetegorically say nobody will ever walk in to our kitchen to see something so amazing :(

Tee2072 · 31/07/2013 06:17

I can't find a specific start date but apparently the first episode is quite something...

Emilythornesbff · 31/07/2013 07:36

PH has ruined it for me.
No bake off for me this year

Did MB really say that guiltyconscience? Oh dear.

PomBearArmy · 31/07/2013 10:45

I've decided I won't let PH ruin it for me. I will watch, while tweeting about what a knob he is. I invite you to join me Emily Smile

Emilythornesbff · 31/07/2013 11:29

Ooh pombear you, with your tempting offer.
Hmmmm.

I do love those baked creations.
