To have shouted at a couple almost having sex in the childrens' playpark

This afternoon I was in the park with my DD and her best friend.

There was a couple, probably in their mid/late teens who were in the play area lying on the grass next to the climbing frame who were almost having sex. First the man was lying between her legs simulating sex and then they were lying side by side the girl had her skirt up and the man hand his hands between her legs so to speak........ It was all really blatant with no attempt to hide anything.

The man also kept looking all round to see if they were being watched which he was obviously enjoying.

In the end I shouted over to say that they were behaving in an inappropriate way in a children's play area. Both the girls found it pretty upsetting- the sex not my shouting!

Really annoyed to think that people think this is an ok way to behave in a play park.

Yuk! I'd have done the same.

sonlypuppyfat · 28/07/2013 23:58

Good for you, what is it with people no one seems to know how to behave anymore

nennypops · 28/07/2013 23:59

Given that they seemed to want a reaction, I don't think I'd have given it to them by shouting. I think I'd have just walked off and maybe called the police.

LessMissAbs · 29/07/2013 00:01

Eugh!

RussianBlu · 29/07/2013 00:04

I would have been raging!

SoleSource · 29/07/2013 00:05

Eugh! YADNBU

ThisIsMySpareName · 29/07/2013 00:06

Yuck - YANBU

I'd have been tempted to chuck a bottle of water over them!

RubyThePirate · 29/07/2013 00:18

Eeewwww! What sort of freak wants to get it on when children are around?

YWNBU.

milkamilka · 29/07/2013 00:21

Glad it's not just me feeling the outrage.

That was my first thought SpareName Grin

A bit of a snog is one thing, but not full on heavy petting

5madthings · 29/07/2013 00:23

Yanbu I would have been tempted to call the local community police and had them told off for public indecency!

possum18 · 29/07/2013 00:27

A little PDA is one thing but I HATE when people take it to far. Last month I did similar (the shouting, not the dry humping) at disneyland! Totally inappropriate. YANBU.

Angelfootprints · 29/07/2013 00:30

What did the couple do after you shouted?

milkamilka · 29/07/2013 22:06

Surprisingly they stopped, I was a bit worried I was going to get abuse hurled back at me. They stayed for a while afterwards and when they left the man walked away smiling at us.

RandomMess · 29/07/2013 22:07

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww that is really disturbing that he clearly wanted to be seen and create a reaction.

Xihha · 29/07/2013 22:19

Ew, that is disgusting, YANBU at all!

HeffalumpTheFlump · 29/07/2013 23:22

Yanbu!! Do some people have no shame? If they were getting off on the fact that they were doing this with an audience including children, that is completely disgusting. Wtf is wrong with some people???

phantomnamechanger · 29/07/2013 23:28

alarm bells ringing here too - about the thrill of performing in front of kittle kids - why?

Nanny0gg · 29/07/2013 23:29

I would have phoned the police.

Especially as it was in a playground.

libertine73 · 29/07/2013 23:33

that is grim, but the way the bloke kept smiling at you is bloody creepy, YANBU

McNewPants2013 · 29/07/2013 23:41

What is wrong with people, if you are going to have sex in public at least wait till it dark and in a place you are not going to get caught.

Op I would have phoned the police.

HarrietSchulenberg · 30/07/2013 00:10

I'd like to think I'd have had the presence of mind to round up some older kids to point, laugh and pelt them with bits of leftover picnic.

Or got a large group of parents to form a circle round them taking photos and making loud comments about posting them of Facebook.

But I'd probably just have shouted at them a bit then scuttled off.

justanuthermanicmumsday · 30/07/2013 00:18

you did the right thing. At time like these i agree with my brother calling some of his boys. how could he get off on ppl especially kds watching. police would have been good though that would have wiped the smile off his face

OhMerGerd · 30/07/2013 05:45

This is what comes of parents a) not thinking its appropriate to keep an eye on where and with whom their teenage children are hanging out b) teenagers feeling or being unable to bring their girl/ boy friends home c) lack of free spaces/ places for under 18's to socialise.

Mid to late teens is what ..14 to 19 at the most but could be two 15 yos or a 15 yo girl and 17 yo boy?

What you described sounds like 2 very immature and young teens getting off together in the park which probably last summer they were literally playing about in with their mates.

I dont think you were unreasonable to say something, unless you really think it was a young teen girl and the creepy MAN you describe ... In which case you were unreasonable as you should have reported them to the police in case she was a grooming victim.

We were all young once. I have an inward cringe everytime I remember the corner of the main road I used to part company with my bf( now DH) when we were 16/17 and on our way home from 6th form. People must have set their clocks by it... Snoggers corner... And there was a nursery school and a park just up the road and people in cars driving past. No hand up skirt or simulated sex but very full on I can't live until tomorrow morning when I see your face again type snogging... Blush.

Longdistance · 30/07/2013 05:52

Bleurgh and double yuck.

I'm in agreement with pp about people not knowing how to behave themselves.
