NC'd for this (sporadic regular, if you'll pardon the oxymoron).

Today is usually a celebratory day for me as it is the birthday of my PFB (DS is now 31!) Meeting up for family party tomorrow but as I say I usually hug this day to myself as it is the anniversary of the day my life changed forever.

I am one of those mums who has grown into the job as it were...I was pretty damn useless as a young mum but I have found I've got better at it, and enjoyed it more, the older my DC have got, especially since the DGC started happening!

But today my own DS is heartbroken as his mate was killed in a road accident the day before yesterday (his own 31st birthday). They have been friends since primary school (I knew him too so am gutted myself) and this is just awful.

To see your own adult children in this kind of pain is indescribable...you just can't put a plaster on it and kiss it better. And as for the family of the young man himself....

That is all. Just needed to write it down and share it anonymously....

Elinor me and DS's father used to do that. (We are however divorced now so that effectively put a stop to it!)

That is exactly where I am coming from on the celebration bit!

Why not celebrate the day your life changed forever, bringing a child into the world is life changing x

I am sorry, I did ask for my post to be taken down as soon as I realised I had completely misjudged, mis understood and posted completely the wrong response. I am completely guilty of not reading the op properly, I won't even try to justify myself. I am not usually this flippant or ignorant and I am sorry. I hope MNHQ .will respond to my post report sooner rather than later and you can get the support that (I can see now I have properly read the op) you deserve.

Fair play tickety good of you to come back and apologise Smile MN might be a bit slow to respond since its the weekend but don't worry. You're certainly not the first and won't be the last to make a stupid comment speaks from bitter experience

I know how you feel OP. In the past 3 years I have been to 3 funerals of young people ( I taught them when they were 7) tragically killed in accidents.

That is really nice of you Tickety...in fact I have asked for the thread to be deleted anyway, (which hasn't happened yet either!). We have all had those 'yikes what have I done moments' after you've pressed send! At least on FB you can delete them yourself

Pucat I don't know what to say...
