To ask if Camp Bestival is worth the money?

I'm thinking of buying a last minute ticket. Just dd and I will be going. It's quite expensive but looks fab. Can anyone reassure me who has been and loves it?
I will spend some of my savings but it solves the ''what the hell do I do with dd for 4 days of the summer holidays'' conundrum. Bearing in mind that will be£400 for 4 days if you take into account spending money too.

Only you can tell of its worth it! For me, £50 per person per day holiday cost is defo worth it for four days of fun. Might not be if that wipes out all your saving tho?

We're going for the 4th year in a row. We love it! It's such a great atmosphere and there's so much to see and do.

Look at the line up and see if you think it's worth it

Flobbadobs · 26/07/2013 12:02

Never been but some good friends go every year and love it. Hopefully we'll be there next year. The line up looks bloody good this year too, although I got all over excited and misread We Are Kloot as We are Klang and thought Greg Davies was going to be there Blush have never heard of We Are Kloot..

OOO I might take the plunge and go for it! I love the line up and I think dd will love it! You've got me all excited now!

I've never been but my DD has twice and she goes to lots of Festivals... she told me all about it and said it was the best one ever... it's laidback and magical (from what she says)

superstarheartbreaker · 26/07/2013 14:00

How old is your dd helliebean? Just wondering what it's like in the probable rain?

We're going for the 3rd time this year (dd=4 and ds=2). We love it and I am soooo excited. Come along! You never regret what you do try only what you don't!

bobbywash · 26/07/2013 16:26

Just for a contrary view, after the last time I said I'd never go again. The line up was average, not good, and my main critisim was the little children present, yes it is advertised as a family festival and 2 groups of us went, with 6 kids between us so it's not as if it was Bah humbug time.

The main problem was the little children who you don't pay for, there were huge numbers of them and a lot of the non musical entertainment was based around them, which on the ticket price your subsidising.

Oh and getting a shower is a real chore if you need/want one waiting for at least 2 hours, sometimes more. As a family friendly festival Latitude was so much better IMHO.

juneau · 26/07/2013 16:30

My DB and SIL and their three DDs go every year and love it. They're not the type to be bothered a lack of showers tho' IYKWIM, whereas that would be a big issue for me!

PfftTheMagicDraco · 26/07/2013 16:31

is it not I am Kloot? they are a band!

Flobbadobs · 26/07/2013 16:45

See? I haven't a clue about bands at all now, I read it totally wrong... Blush [gimmer]

chenin · 27/07/2013 10:09

My DD went when she was 18 or 19 but I've just asked her and she only went the once. The Festival she loved (I got confused!) was End of the Road... that was the arty magic one..
end of the road
