Trivial alert.
Just got off a train and was exiting the station when I noticed this man's shoe laces were untied. I told him incase he hadn't noticed and he angrily told me that he knew and that 'I will do it when I get where I am going' then he shook his head. Hmm I thought I was being helpful. Similar happened in Superdrug a few weeks ago, lady left her bank card in machine so I went after her with it and she sort of turned back as I was approaching. I told her what she had done and she said 'For goodness sake I knowwww' sarcastically & stormed off.

What's going on? Anyone else had similar?

Total non issues I know but it irked me Brew Biscuit

Some people are randomly odd, OP and I love the post at the beginning of the thread about health and safety. It used to be called natural selection!

There was a case a few years ago not that far from me where a man murdered, yes murdered, another man for pointing out to him that effectively he needed to push the doors he was opening, not pull them, or something like that. It wasn't a case of him being mentally ill or anything, he just took exception to someone daring to tell him he was opening the door the wrong way. That has always stuck with me, it scared the life out of me.

And just because I am a helpful soul, does anyone else feel the need to tuck the label into the persons shirt/ dress who is in front of them in the queue? I have to really fight that urge Grin

I don't tie my shoelaces, occasionally one is long enough to hit the ground but only by millimeters...if I go shopping or somewhere busy someone tells me they're not tied about every 20 minutes or so, sometimes I'm actually tempted to tie them just to stop people being helpful, lol.

I'm always polite though that doesn't stop some people getting annoyed with me. Once an older lady told me my shoe laces were undone, I said, yes I know, thanks Smile and carried on looking at things in a shop, she stood there for a bout 10 seconds glaring at me, so I looked back a bit confused and she stormed off with a humph to her friend saying, well I told her her shoelaces are undone, but she's still not tying them!! Confused I mean I understand that she was trying to be helpful in case I hadn't noticed, but when I'm clearly aware and happy with how my own shoelaces are you'd think it was up to me whether I tied them or not, lol.

"Too much health and safety the dumb are not naturally culled, so there are more of them"

That is quite possibly the most marvellous thing I have ever read on Mumsnet (and I include the entire Pombear thread which made me wee a little bit at the time).

OP - YANBU, rude buggers the lot of them. I am an eternal do-gooder-pointer-outer and I have never knowingly encountered these incredible reactions but then, i am incredibly thick skinned and even more incredibly unobservant, so no doubt they are flicking me the Vs and mouthing Fuck Off Dear whilst I am smugly on my way, having done my deed for the day.

On balance I thinki am happier being a dim do-gooder, than a miserable bastard with untied laces/egg on my shirt/head in backwards etc.
