To still use a bouncy chair for 10 m/o DD?

DD is 8.5kg, and the chair says suitable until 9kg... but not to use once they can sit unaided.
I only just checked the instructions, so she's been sitting unaided for 2 months now with no issues.

So AIBU to carry on using it (she's in it 5-10 mins for my shower each day) and assume they're just covering themselves, or am I being awfully unsafe with her Blush

We dragged the bouncy chair out as long as we could because dd would cry if we popped her in the cot. We got a squishy comfy highchair in the end and it was a life saver! I could wee in peace without wondering if she was about to tip over or start screaming!

Set up a travel cot/play pen for when you need to do something alone. I never had to go to the toilet with baby. I also new he was safe if I had to answer the door or get Things out of the oven. It was a godsend when I had a sick bug and was running back and forth to the loo or being sick in a bucket!

My DD will only sleep in her bouncer during the day, so god knows what I'm going to do when she outgrows it. Sad

My dd is 9 months and over 9kg. I still use the bouncy chair to put her in when she has a nap in the day. When she's been awake she's toppled out a couple of time but it's not far so she's been fine Blush .

We used a bumbo after ds got too big for his bouncy chair. It gave me piece of mind as he couldn't get out of it while I was in the shower and we put some toys on the tray for him. That and the combo of me singing and dancing in the shower whilst he was on the bathroom floor gave me enough time to shower before the wailing began, but he is the ultimate Velcro baby.

I used my friend's bouncy yesterday to temporarily restrain my 7 month old while I dashed to the loo. My friend was feeding her LO, hands full of gloop and wipes, etc, and watching two toddlers in the same room... I got back less than 5 mins later to find DD crawling across the room turtle style. Apparently she performed a confident and graceful flip sideways. Friend was mortified. I should have known better.

Try a bumbo or strap into a pushchair for showering time and loo breaks!
