To actually want to cry at the weather forecast for next week?

All this hot weather and the week I'm going away there's rain predicted every single fucking day :(

Got a grand total of about £80 to go away with (going half board so no food to buy) and was hoping for lazy days on the beach playing football and building sandcastles with ds, but looks like we'll be stuck indoors at bloody Pontins for a week. Not fair!! Lol

I know what you mean, that's me EVERY sodding year! I must admit that I was so relieved last year that we couldn't afford a holiday at all. I hope you have a great time anyway. (£80 can buy a good few Wine though Wink)

This holiday is my birthday present off my dad. Was hoping to have a bit more spending money but have just had redundancy confirmed today from my main job so need to tighten the purse strings rather a lot :( I was hoping to get away with eating a late breakfast, a few drinks and ice creams to buy then back for our tea and evening entertainment, but feel it's going to cost a little more now!

Where are you going? It's glum here in the South West, but clearing in the afternoons and really hot, so the sea and the beach are still really good.

Oh I know the feeling Itsnotahoover, a week in a rainy campsite for us last year was so disappointing. Think of the positives, no housework, time to bond with the kids, try new things table tennis, walking on the beach with wellies and kagools is fun, if there's a pool, outdoors we found it was warmer swimming in that than sitting in the rain, bring some games cards, monopoly and as many snacks (wine bottles) as you can. The kids will think its an adventure, am sure it will be fab.

Us too. I've slaved away until the end of term which is Wednesday, go camping for a week on Thursday and it's predicted to rain! All those days sat indoors working, and then a week of rain in a tent. Only in Britain

We're off to Pontins at Brean Sands in Somerset Monday to Friday, just me and 7 year old ds. I can cope without the sun, just don't want it wet all bloody week!

I think there's an indoor pool so I can maybe tick off teaching ds to swim whilst we're there!

Indoor pool and teaching ds to swim will keep you both fully occupied for the week. He will love it and you will use up enough calories to justify as many glasses of wine as you like!

You'll be fine! I've spent a few wet weeks on campsites round there over the years.
Animal Farm has a very large indoor play barn and you can dodge the rain to look at the animals.

Cagoules and wellies, as someone else said, while you go for an icecream and walk on Brean beach.

I'm sure there's more but we used to be over there with PILs so spent most of the time either sitting in their awning with their TV on or being dragged round shopping places (Street, Weston, Burnham) when the weather was wet. They'd only venture outdoors in blazing sunshine.

Itsnotahoover · 23/07/2013 00:45

I'm planning on visiting Wookey Caves and Weston while we're there so that's 2 days out! I'm sure it'll be fine :) I've downloaded some new books on my kindle, taking a dock for my iphone (to drown out noisy neighbours - I've stayed at Pontins before!!) and will stock up on wine!
