to think that no matter what, I'd never think it was ok to take a horse into a McDonalds...

...but apparently some people think that's fine story here

I can't imagine any set of circumstances in which I'd think, "hmmm I know I'm riding a horse, but I'm hungry. I know, I'll take the hose to McDonalds"

I think it'd cause me a bit more than 'distress' if I was a customer and the horse shat on the floor while I was eating.

bloody brilliant.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 22/07/2013 20:11

YANBU. GBK all the way.

catgirl1976 · 22/07/2013 20:12

It was the drive through not the restaurant

I would take mine

My only concern is my horse would be upset if he sniffed some of his chums in the burgers

I really can't seen an issue with taking a horse through a drive through.

HollyBerryBush · 22/07/2013 20:13

Hardly 'in' as it was going through the drive through. So unless it can shit sideways through glass, I doubt a steaming dollop would land by a table

catgirl1976 · 22/07/2013 20:13

Sorry - just seen she took it in

It seems that was a protest at them not serving her at the drive thru

I wouldn't take a horse in to a McDonalds. I would be worried about the horse panicking and hurting itself.

I don't see why they turned her away at the drive thru though

Reality · 22/07/2013 20:13

See, DH and me are disagreeing about this.

I reckon it's fine to take a horse to the drive thru (not IN the restaurant, ofcourse, that woudl be mentals).

DH says I have lost all sense of reason to suggest such a thing, and that clearly it's gross and bonkers. I can't see the problem with it. You're still outside Confused.

catgirl1976 · 22/07/2013 20:14

Still - she could have just left the horses outside with her friend, gone in and got the food and come back out.

Which would be the more normal thing to do

froubylou · 22/07/2013 20:15

Used to call at chippy on mine when I was younger. And if its nice we sometimes call at local pub with dd and her pony.

catgirl1976 · 22/07/2013 20:17

There are often horses at our local pub (outside obvs, not playing pool and having a pint) No one minds

shadeofme · 22/07/2013 20:17

I reckon she heard they Mcdonalds were serving horse now and got the wrong end of the stick

Boom Tish ....

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2013 20:17

I dont see why they didnt allow the horse in the driv through.
And have just p.sl at shit sideways through glass
And tbh a bit of horse poo would probably be more nutritious than a mcburger

Awks · 22/07/2013 20:18

That poor horse. It was probably its mum in the happy meal.

Binkyridesagain · 22/07/2013 20:18

My DM would take her horse into the pub, he liked mild, so they would have a quick half and then carry on with the rest of their day.

TheOldestCat · 22/07/2013 20:19

This has been making me chuckle all day.

Back in the day, I worked at many different McDonald's and we'd get some interesting customers. But no horses. Although someone tried to strangle me through the drive-thru window once. Happy memories.

Gruntfuttock · 22/07/2013 20:23

HollyBerryBush look at the second photo in the linked article (or read it) and you will see that she took it inside and it left a big "steaming dollop" on the floor

DaddyPigsMistress · 22/07/2013 20:26

Neigh its not ok, its unhaygenic

Wallison · 22/07/2013 20:26

Better than a big steaming dollop between two bits of bun, surely?

Anyway, I think this woman should be praised for her enterprising attitude to breaking into the world of 'restaurant' supplies.

DuchessofHaphazard · 22/07/2013 20:26

No - she took it in and it shat on the floor! Agree re taking it through the drive-thru, although I can imagine if there was a horse stuck between cars in a queue and something spooked the horse it wouldn't be fun. Or if an inconsiderate twat beeped their horn or something

VerySmallSqueak · 22/07/2013 20:27

The food is shit in there anyway so a bit of horse shit shouldn't raise an eyebrow.

Xihha · 22/07/2013 20:28

Is anyone else wondering how she was planning to carry her mcdonalds on horseback without spilling the drink?

Wallison · 22/07/2013 20:29

Maybe the horse was fitted with a cup-holder?

eatyouwithaspoon · 22/07/2013 20:30

I went into a McDonalds in France and they had dogs in there while the owners were eating. Not sure I would fancy a horses chance in there in France though Grin

This is the real news story of the day, can't believe the six o'clock news has been harping on about the royal baby when important things like this are happening.
