She s 5yo. I also have 3yo so can compare.

5yo very physically active. Finds it difficult to sit or stand still without squirming. Myself and teacher noticed a lot of daydreaming, lack of concentration, difficulty completing simple tasks such as getting dressed or brushing teeth. Wets self alot. Can sometimes ave several wee accidents per day and then weeks of being dry. Having difficulty making friends. Teacher said that she doesn't seem to know how to play with them and follows them or plays alongside them rather than with them. She also said she is hoping that the reason is that she is younger in the school year. She is very clumsy. Much more prone to dropping stuff and spilling drinks than my 3yo due to constant fidgeting. She has less idea of safety and have to be careful about her running into road but getting better. School work is ok. Reading is ahead for her age. She enjoys reading. Writing is terrible and worse than average. Learning phenomes and spellings pretty good. She has very good memory. Pre school were surprised at how quickly she learnt everyone's names at 4.

I don't mean to belittle anyone's experience of ADHD or upset anyone, but AIBU at wondering if that she may have it or am I being paranoid ? Just need some advice as DH says I'm being paranoid and my friend who is primary school teacher agrees about paranoia. But she hasn't seen dd since she was 3yo.

Oh and by the time she was 6 she had broken her arm, her leg in 2 places, her collar bone and had stitches putting her face through a book case ...all from really innocuous events such as getting off the sofa!

Sounds like Dyspraxia to me too. She sounds very similar to my son who is now 11 yrs old and diagnosed with Poor Auditory Memory and DCD and ADD.

I also have a son (6) who has been diagnosed with ADHD. he has all the symptoms your daughter does, but NEVER listens, ever, he is on medication now so hard to remember, but he can be very violent, NO sense of danger at all (ran out into road and was almost hit by a car) no empathy for other peoples feelings, no awareness of the world around him, he will run, push, shove, kick his arms and legs out, no matter who gets in his way. When he is being told to do something or told off he just laughs hysterically. We still have to dress him daily to be able to get out of the house on time for school etc. Doesnt understand consequnces, no reward charts, timeout has zero effect.

He also has major sensory issues and is being assessed for ASD xx

oh am so sorry :(

DD also has run out into the road before i can stop her. If there was a car it would have hit her. So i now insist on holding her hand most of the way home.

Yes, I'd forgotten the broken bones. My son broke every limb within a period of two years - just doing the usual childhood things like riding a bike (took him ages to learn and never did learn to stop), trampoline, playing football and just tripping up. Plus broke collar bone and many injuries to his face and head by bumping into things. Not sure if this part is due to other conditions, but he always took longer to heal. Oh and lack of sensitivity in many areas of his body - in face never cried once with the broken limbs, even though one was very complicated and required many operations to six.

"to fix"

have done some reading on dyspraxia and yes can see what you all mean. Some of the stuff like inability to stand still and concentrate can also be attributed to dyspraxia.
Thanks to all of you. This has been a great help.
