"You get sibling" should be "younger siblings"

Tea by 5.30
Bath 6.45 ish
Bed 7.15 ish
Books / audiobook / film at weekend
Sleep well depends but usually between 8.30 and 9 I think!

PickledMoomin · 17/07/2013 21:33

DD 7 and DS 3

Dinner at 530
Bath at 630
Story 7-715.
DD then reads but doesn't come out of her room. She plays music/audio CD and quietly reads. Imagine she's asleep by 8.

3MonthMaid · 17/07/2013 21:37

DD nearly 7yrs.

Dinner around 5.30, a bit of telly or drawing or playing. Shower (not every night) at about 6.45. Pjs on and into bed. She reads a book to me while I potter about tidying up and then lights out about 7.30. Usually asleep by about 8. Wakes up around 7.15am.

She needs her sleep. If she gets an hour less, we really know about it. It's pretty calm in my house though- just me and DD so not too much screeching and fighting (well, quite a lot from me, but not much from DD Wink)

Dd 6.5 and dd 4.

Very rough routine In the lighter summer months. Its sometimes earlier, but usually later at weekends.

6pm Family Dinner
8pm - called in from playing.
8.30pm bath
9pm bed

Both sleep well and wake at 7.30 on their own.

I know its probably late for some people but the girls dont seem to need loads of sleep. I used to put dd1 to bed at 7pm and complain when she woke at 5am, I just worked out that she needed less sleep which is a terrible shame

umpti67 · 17/07/2013 23:00

Mine doesn't sleep well. So usually bath at 8pm (although tends to be every other night these days), stories at 9pm for around 20 minutes, then she reads. Sometimes she sleeps at 10pm sometimes 11pm. Has been the same since she was a baby. She just isn't tired. Have tried putting her to bed at 7pm (aka Gina Ford - go earlier). No effect. She's currently up there listening to an audio book wide awake. Extremely active, eats well these days - just doesn't sleep. Will wake up about 8am - which is enough time for us to get dressed, have breakfast and walk the 5 mins to school.

Routine starts from dinner time at around 6, shower/bath at 7, pajamas and story 7.30, lights out by 8 - for my seven year old boy. Sometimes bath and pajamas happens earlier, though that sometimes leads to "I'm hungry" and pre-bedtime scavenging in he kitchen cupboards. So best to get him full at 6pm!

Catrin · 17/07/2013 23:49

Dinner 6/6.30, tv, hot choc and ideally reading half 7, though not always, brush teeth, toilet, change, bed 8pm.
SHe knows that unless her hair is on fire, she does not come downstairs again. If she absolutely cannot sleep, she can read for a bit.

gingermop · 17/07/2013 23:58

my 8 year old and almost 5yo go up for bath at 7, we then hav cuddles and chat about there day, then story, tuck in and lights out by 7/7.10.
they r realy good and rarely get bak up for anything.
the nights more or less mine then :-)

Fraxinus · 18/07/2013 00:02

Wow ginger mop... Your kids have a bath, cuddles, chat and story in 10 minutes Hmm that's quick.

Joiningthegang · 18/07/2013 00:04

Bath/shower 6pm
Play read iPad till 7pm
Asleep between 7 and 8

8 for 7 yr old seems ok to me - how can you bear any later?

ElizabethHornswoggle · 18/07/2013 00:06
