Amanda Palmer happens to be one of my favorite musicians, recently she appeared at Glastonbury and the Daily Mail wrote a 'review' of her set, which focused on the nipple slip she had mid-set instead of her music, and of course the comments section is full of the usual pearl clutching that she dares to have body hair, the horror!

Anyway, she decided to reply to them with a lovely song and some full frontal nudity, Dear Daily Mail. Sincerely, Amanda Palmer.

And to be clear I started off as a fan as a teenager but everything she has done since has made me wish she'd stop, because she used to be great. No qualms with her message this time, I just think she has way too much wrong with her to be worshipping her for this.

actually the crowd funded tour and album was another fuck you to the big record companies, she paved the way for other artists to ask people who care about art to fund them directly rather than through the companies who have control over what the artist does.

Re the Kickstarter thing, she didn't "steal" any money from her fans. She asked for donations which were voluntarily given, and the free musicians also worked with her voluntarily. She her TED talk for an explanation of that.
