To think eBay has let this scammer get away with it?

Dh bought v expensive rare thing at bargain price. It never turned up.

Seller claimed it was delivered and signed for - on a day we were home, and in name not ours. Neighbors don't have it, Royal Mail say that tracking no didn't go through our local sorting office. Seller went silent.

Our theory is he sent something, somewhere in order to claim it was lost and sell again.

Opened dispute, got mail yesterday thanking dh for his patience and efforts to communicate with unhelpful seller.

Mail today: THEY HAVE RULED IN SELLER 'S FAVOUR because he provided tracking details. WTAF? Scamming little wankbadger now has item and money, with ebay's help!

I can understand why seller thought buyer was changing, if seller was given info that item arrived safely. But agree, it's seller's problem and Ebay are being their usual numptiness.

To be fair, if I was the seller and had tracking info saying 'delivered' and a buyer saying it hadn't, I'd be suspicious. However, I'd supply the postage info because (a) I'd want to look helpful if it came to a dispute and (b) it'd be no particular trouble and part of the seller's duty. This seller isn't so much dodgy as an unhelpful arse - but he's made himself look v dodgy by ceasing to respond the minute things went wrong.

We've never even asked for a refund - just help in tracking down the parcel. Grrrr. Bloody ebay, bloody RM.

Dispute through paypal.

Tried - site says no because we already had a dispute with eBay.

NeedaSilver do you know how to use the Ebay community boards? Because that's where I would ask for advice next. The quality of advice you get is hit and miss, but many are very experienced.

Just how much money did you pay?
