Sat watching the Great British Budget Menu and feeling like a real spoilt brat for feeling a bit sorry for myself lately.
That's it really.

Not everyone has your resources, Soured.

Leith* - I salute you.

Just to be clear I was not on my own (well I was when I was lying in the road) we had about 30 people at the demo. Even then it was patheticaly small, and we got weird looks from all those who just wanted to get on with signing on. Thats fine, we are not in it for thanks. Just to show that people can resist, should resist, and must resist. Huge numbers of our society are just playthings of the rich.

You really summed it up there.

Well said, Leithlurker.

Good point Leith. There is a time and a place for counting ones blessings and I do every day, as my blessings get smaller and smaller (two disabled DC) but something more productive should be done now.

Souredstones I am glad that you are so fortunate that bad luck will never affect you in any way again due to your hard work. Not many people have enough put by or in insurance policies to maintain themselves and their families for life without state assistance should they all become, for example, quadriplegic due to a car accident.

It must be nice to know that your income couldn't be wiped out my death, divorce, disability or redundancy too. I have worked my arse off for years but have yet to achieve this level of security.

I've seen times, long gone now thankfully, when I've had under a fiver to feed me and dd for 3 or 4 days. Having a meal made from a big bag of potatoes, tesco value chicken burgers and value frozen veg 2 nights in a row, not eating on the other 2 so dd could eat.. incredibly hard times.

Now that we 'have' money I over compensate - the kitchen is always fully stocked and I buy extras I'd never have dreamt of on a whim.

My blessings are well and truly counted these days.
