Last time we had this DJ they playing album versions of songs. Think if the song's bad enough for R1 to censor, should be bad enough for school party? AIBU?

How old are the children?

SoupDragon · 11/07/2013 14:26

Assuming these are Y6 children, I think it's perfectly reasonable to ask him to play the radio edit of any dubious songs.

No I agree, I once went to an infant school fete and they had a dance routine with some of the children performing with the lyrics "You know that ain't no shit we'll be getting lots of tit" and "You know that I ain't bragging she's a real pussy wagon" from Greased Lightning. Someone clearly never listened to the lyrics, I was a teenager when it happened and although appalled didn't complain to anyone as I was too shy but wish I had now!

Yes, primary school age. Just think DJ should have intelligence to make the output fit the audience. PLayed Rhianna's song about S&M at the FHC a month ago. Angry

I remember "I've never met a nice South African" being played at a primary school party. It was the B-side of "the Chicken song".

I saw a Puppet show and the puppets were dancing to 'Shut your mouth you stupid Ho' bybGwen Stefani!
