in thinking my neighbours are twats?

My neighbours can be pretty dam insensitive and fucking annoying at times but this afternoon has taken the piss.

Directly next door is a 23yo with 2 dds, next door to her is a 29yo with 2ds's. They have lived on this estate most of their lives. I moved in with dd1 around 4 years ago. These are all ha housing.

Since I moved in, I've had an outside dog, who was a st Bernard. He had been an outside dig since he was a pup, my neighbours kids fed him wipes, left over bbq food and all manner of garden toys, etc. They also had a habbit of taking the locks off his pen. Obviously a st Bernard that still thinks he is a puppy and 5yo kids is not going to go well and I installed locks on his pen and got a security light and started spending more time in the back to catch them. I also warned the parents and it only stopped when one of the local youths tried to use my garden to get away from the police, Bernard was out and he got bitten. The kids were now scared of him. Anyway, he ended up having to be put down last year.

Since that all calmed down I've had dd2. When dd2 was first born they were relatively considerate in that parties and the like moved from my ndns house to her mates and I was grateful. Since dd2 turned 3mo, the parties have restarted, I'm talking music so loud that if I didn't know any better I would swear I had headphones in, music starting at 4am. Screaming rows with her bf, sister, mates... Or anyone really.

I have reported the noise but nothing has been done.

Today, I've been hanging out washing and they were sat in the garden, talking/shouting at each other. I noticed something white in the corner of the garden and when I've checked what it is, its an open, dirty nappy!! Now, dd2 wears size 3 little angels and this was a pampers size 5... I am fuming so I start up a conversation and mention it.

Apparently, her dog has been going in her bin recently and eating nappies. Now, had it been me, I would have jumped over the fence, grabbed the nappy, and apologised profusely and jumped back over the fence.and carried on my day.

Obviously my neighbours must think that I have all the time to go round clearing up after her bloody dog! Her response was "fucking dog, ah well" she then proceeded to turn back to her conversation and ignore my further attempts to restart the conversation. I've overheard them discussing me and according to them, IBVU to expect someone to hop over a 4ft fence and maybe all future nappys and other rubbish should go over the fence.

I've gone out and sorted it now as I ran the risk of spring bok dog picking it up and eating it, she's never had the chances to get her paws on a dirty nappy so would probably have enjoyed that!

I apologise for the length but I didn't want to drip feed.

Any ideas of how to proceed?

Install a fence.

Chuck it back over into their garden. Job done.

CrowsLanding · 09/07/2013 19:09

Throw it back over the fence.

pictish · 09/07/2013 19:10

Yep - you ought to have put it back over the fence!

pictish · 09/07/2013 19:11

Not even in a confrontational ner ner way - just in a drop it back over all serene like way.

Yanbu, apart from not putting it back over the fence!

When DS flung a nappy through the gap in our fence the other day, me and DP faffed around until we'd gotten it back - we were mortified! Grin

Three- there is a fence, its only 4ft though, I've tried getting the ha to put a better one in but they refuse and I'm not allowed to do it myself. I have put trelis (sp) and tried to use various other things but their kids have them down in days so I've given up.

If it happens again, I have a feeling it will, I'm going to chuck it back. Hopefully, it'll knock over their strong bow or something. Grin petty but it will be worth it!
