To ask what your DP/DH thinks of Mumsnet

Apparently at my husband's work the joke about Mumsnet goes:

'I'm a SAHM, my DP took a day off from his 90 hour a week job to look after children for a day to give me a break for a few hours so I went to see my lover. When I got home my children were clean, fed, and dressed ready for bed. But the bastard hadn't done the washing up. Is this emotional abuse?'.

So what does your DH think of this? Do you get the piss taken out of you for using Mumsnet too?

No DP, or DC for that matter, but all my friends (male and female) love that I'm on MN.

They love hearing about the fun threads (hamwidge anyone?) and trying out any helpful hints and tips I garner from this lovely vipers nest!

Dh says what Fell's does.

I think he underestimates the number of other displacement activities I have to avoid speaking to him. So you all get the blame.

flipchart · 09/07/2013 10:53

He thinks it's a time eater!!!

AllYoursBabooshka · 09/07/2013 11:28

He finds it very interesting/funny and posts occasionally.

My Dad on the other hand doesn't believe any of you actually exist.

HeffalumpTheFlump · 09/07/2013 11:42

My DH thinks its a strange cult that sucks women in, and never lets them leave. I like to ask his opinion on some of the more shocking threads though and he quite likes that. He is often very much baffled by the don't judge brigade though. He is very much one to call a spade a spade!

DH loves a good AIBU

He puts his most serious comtemplating face on and articulates his argument and gets annoyed when i dont post it for him.

Other times he just shakes his head and walks away - there are certain threads he just doesnt understand (anything pube related)

Stanislav · 09/07/2013 12:00

I was beginning so many sentences with the phrase "there was a thread on Mumsnet..." that DH has abbreviated this to TWATOM and exclaims "twatom!" whenever I now say it. Then I call him a twat. We love each other really Smile

Mine is most impressed at the collective knowledge on here - there isn't a problem that Mumsnet can't solve (or at least proovide an opinion on)

Passmethecrisps · 09/07/2013 12:08

Another one with a DH who loves a good AIBU. He has also been known to ask for updates on stories from several days ago.

He is genuinely thankful actually for the collective knowledge both from MN as a wider forum but mainly from my ante then post-natal group. Genuinely, without them I believe I would have become very depressed as a result of feeding issues.

Didactylos · 09/07/2013 12:10

Have just asked him
He says

'snneh
probably not the worst place you can waste your time...'

yamsareyammy · 09/07/2013 12:11

slightly irritated by it/thinks it is slightly helpful, in about equal measure.

WhiteBirdBlueSky · 09/07/2013 12:11

I would never have shown Mumsnet to my ex. He thought anyone typing anything on the internet was an over sharing loser.

Now were separated I don't have to pretend not to be one of you! Grin

SupermansBigRedPants · 09/07/2013 12:37

Df Asks ''hows mumsnet today'' as soon as I pick up my phone in the morning Blush to be fair though I do go straight to emails, Facebook then MN Grin I tell him about threads I'm reading if they are interesting or he asks what I'm laughing at etc.

Don't think he minds it really.

Jestrin · 09/07/2013 12:52

My DH gives a wry smile and asks 'how's MN today?'
