To check carefully for dozy cats? And ask you to think good thoughts for NDN DCat?

DS1 is 3, with a speech delay that has gotten a lot better lately, however it does mean that generally if it doesn't overly benefit or interest him, or involves long word he will not bother speaking.

Anyway, today DS comes bombing in from the garden, shouting clear as day "mummy tabtiii (tabbitha - tabby in ds speak), blood come super fast" well bless him, i wouldn't normally give it much thought but he was so insistent, genuinely worried. I thought perhaps next doors cat had fallen off the fence (tabby the cat is often a cause for DS' concern!) anyway I get out into the garden, and poor tabby is in a baaad way.

We look after her when NDN go away, she plays with our DCat and basically treats our house as a second home. She is a lovely cat.

Anyway Ds gets DH, DH jumps the wall, pushes the cat door through (electronically controlled by collar which has come off) and poor tabs struggles through. I manage to reach NDN at work, both work together. They come take her to vets. DH and I sat here wondering.. Both cried a bit.
She is daft, she wanders in the road, so I think she was hit.

Daft to be upset eh? She isn't ours but we see her daily... Any way... Please think good thoughts, and look carefully when in your car. (Im sure most of you do).

Hope the cat is ok

I was in a parked car with my friend t'other week and a stupid cat was wandering dangerously close to the main road we were on obviously wanting to cross. She actually unbuckled her seatbelt and had a hand on the door handle in case it ran out (not entirely sure what she thought she could do though) but fortunately the cat lost interest in the suicidal idea and went off another way

I think some cats are just daft that way, our own Dcat doesn't go far luckily. Just hope she is ok Sad

Taking the good out of the situation - im really proud of DS for fetching help, just hope it made a difference

Sometimes you can't avoid the silly buggers no matter what you do. I had one run out of a driveway, straight under my wheels a few years ago. Absolutely nothing I could do Confused

Hope NDNs cat is ok

I don't understand, you find your neighbours cat in a bad way, and put it back in its own house when you know no one is in? Why would you not hold onto her and try and comfort her or even take her to the vet yourself?

I couldn't have left her in a house alone when she was in a bad way, and I don't even like cats.

:( Sending get well vibes to NDN kitty.

I have an elderly deaf cat who used to like lying in our (quiet) road - I'm grateful now he prefers the garden.

Aww poor pet! I hope shes ok. That is how i acquired dcat2. I saw a grey ball if fluff rolling up the pavement and then darting into the road causing lots of screeching of brakes. She climbed up into the engine of a parked car and i couldnt leave her so crawled under but she was too well hid. Eventually car owner came back, popped the bonnet and i got her out. Took her to the vet who said she was only about 6 weeks old and very underweight. Probably strayed too early from mum ir maybe mum was hit by car. Anyway. We've got 2 cats now Grin

Hercy sorry should have said she isnt a fan of being picked up at the best of times so DH couldnt pick her up To bring her indoors to out house, (she was clearly in shock understandably an would have meant grabbing her, bringing her over the wall etc) so did the next best thing, pushed the cat flap open and she went in. I was on the phone to NDN within minutes of this and they were home in under ten. DH stayed in NDN back garden and watched her, until they came home and rushed her to vets.

We are on hooks waiting for them to get back. She was bloodied and breathing a bit oddly.. But she ha gotten herself home so that has to be a positive?

They just popped round, she is ok, may have to stay in overnight but looks like she had a close shave and will recover, thank goodness Smile

Oh that's good news.

Sorry, I misunderstood, I assumed she had been in your garden, and obviously didn't know about the picking up issue.
