Well it's kind of a little embarrassing. He has awful BO & Bad Breath. So much so I find it hard to believe he doesn't know. He always dresses nice it's just the smell that makes me want to gip. AIBU to tell him? So he is aware of the situation, must be better than people talking about him behind his back, what do you MN think I should do?

I'd wimp out and tell his line manager

Speak to your line manager, it's their job to tell him.

I thought about that, but then I thought she might think i'm gossiping, don't want to come across as a colleague who stirs trouble :(

IME as a mgr who has had to deal with this, they only clean up for a while and then go back to stinking.

I have come across this problem in my work experience too, and it has to come from the Line Manager.
In my case, the colleague with the BO was gently told that there was an noticable BO and that it would be worth checking with GP to see if there were underlying health issues that could cause it.
The person went to their GP who confirmed that there was a BO but after checks no cause was found. Suggestions were made re type of deodorant to use, mouthwash etc and the BO was solved.

Obviously the person concerned was mortified but was v grateful to have been told in such a manner, rather than hints, cans of deodorant on desk etc which can be contrued as spiteful and nasty.

It has to come from the manager or HR. Not you.
