About the buyers from hell

Buyers are requesting to come in with two painters/decorators and I'm freaking out. We've exchanged but they've proven such a nightmare from day one that I'm worried that letting them in again may cause further problems or questions or God knows what. Plus I don't fancy tidying up again when I'm busy packing and it hurts to think i'll be hearing about all the changes they're going to do to what still feels like my house.
WIBU to not let them in? I know that legally I can do so but I fear the repercussions. They are incredibly rude and demanding people who have managed to piss everyone off, including their own solicitor who has described them as "control freaks". Unfortunately they have my email address.

I would just pretend that I never check my emails, but I can be an arse Grin

Dear god, really? The sheer hide of some people! I don't think I would trust them with the passports full stop. I'd say no to the visits, but leave a nice note and bottle of wine for them in the property for when they move inif you think you might need a favour from them.

Our vendors did that, it was very sweet. Of course, it didn't make up for them stripping the bathroom cabinets and curtains that we had agreed as part of the sale and buggering off to New Zealand with them, but hey ho.

TweedWasSoLastYear · 07/07/2013 08:03

My Vendors took the fire place and the fire !

gintastic · 07/07/2013 17:12

Mine didn't move out... And then, 3 days later when they finally shifted themselves, they took up all the carpets (that were included in the sale) and burnt them in the back garden.

We're never moving again.

My husband ordered a new passport and there was a problem with our postcode, the passport office insisted he sign personally for the passport and they rang him to say they were about to deliver the passport. I would write to the passport office and explain the situation. They also needed to see his ID before they handed it over.

kickassangel · 07/07/2013 19:09

Passports will only be given to the named peron, not even their spouse, so although you may need to sort out a way to get them, they won't end up with the new owners.

Alwayscheerful · 07/07/2013 19:39

I took delivery of my DHs passport but they called and spoke to him first and he gave them permssion to give it to me, I had his driving licence ready to show them too,so dont worry about your passports.

Choccywoccydodah · 07/07/2013 19:50

Omg gin that's bloody awful! What wankers!

Fairenuff · 07/07/2013 20:42

Our passports were just posted through the letterbox. We did not need to sign for them. I think it depends on where you live.

minibmw2010 · 07/07/2013 20:51

My DH's passport came back within 7 days and was posted in the letterbox, no signature needed. No knock on the door.

bimbabirba · 08/07/2013 20:00
