...You should at least wash/iron it first?

So many listings I've seen have been crumpled or dirty clothes with, 'could do with a wash and iron' written in the description.

I know it's nothing compared to some of the horrors that other MNers have found on eBay, but are people really that lazy?

I always sell everything washed, but not necessarily ironed. It depends on the item and how futile ironing would be when it would be posted. I've rarely bought a clothing item that didn't require ironing at least from the postal process itself.

ChazDingle · 03/07/2013 22:20

I always wash items i buy anyway so iron them after. I wouldn't say its unreasonable for someone to list a crumpled or dirty item, after all its there listing so up to them what they show, however they are bound to get less for the item if it sells at all.

I have just washed a load of baby clothes ready to sell on ebay. I have ironed out the obvious creases but as I line dry it upside down most of the creases fall out anyway. I will roll up vests & shirts with old gift wrap tissue so they dont crumple too much.

Yanbu, if something is crumpled I cannot see if there in good quality or it looks like they are coming from an unkempt home.
I rarely iron but if I was to sell clothes I would definitely wash and iron everything so the customer could see how nice it is.

I'm not fussed about ironed - but yes washing is a must.

AND FECKING FEBREZE IS NOT WASHING!!!!

I thought it was in ebays t&c's to have items of clothing washed?

Tbh, I work in a post office and some of the packets I deal with are a bit smelly, chip fat, pet smells, really badly packed items just put me right off eBay, I'd be horrified to receive some of the parcels I post. I've seen me some days counting the minutes till the postman comes just to be rid of the smell!

Clothes should be clean but not necessarily freshly washed. Washed and stored in a drawer is fine so long as they are clean. I don't think ironing is really necessary but ironed clothes always get more bids than un ironed clothes as it makes them look newer and less worn, so it would be in the sellers best interest to iron.

I do laugh at the state of some of the things listed. My ebay pet hate is when people use the word 'stunning' in the title. It really gets my goat as most of the 'stunning' items are really plain, dull and uninteresting.

Sorry for the double post there. My phone / Internet is playing up tonight.
