yo cannot beat a bit of bush ! Oerrrr that sounds a bit wrong aye. I love that song she did " a womans work" always makes me cry

quirrelquarrel · 02/07/2013 12:30

Sacre and I think she did a French version of The Infant Kiss too.

Lottapianos · 02/07/2013 12:31

I heard her being interviewed by Ken Bruce a couple of years ago on R2 and she sounded really lovely - warm and funny and down to earth.

She has a glorious voice.

mumsnoc · 02/07/2013 12:39

Yanbu. She rocks!

lionheart · 02/07/2013 13:42

Oh yes. Fantastic voice.

When you look back on the concert footage of her tour, you have to wonder just how she managed the whole singing, dancing, theatricality of it.

I can see why she only ever did it once!

YANBU

quirrelquarrel · 02/07/2013 15:23

Just been out and bought an old video of The Whole Story! love this compilation

Pagwatch · 02/07/2013 15:31

Good she is fantastic.

She is only a couple of years older than me. I wanted to be her. Love running up that hill, the kick inside and loads of others.

pinkmoomin · 02/07/2013 16:15

YANBU. A fellow KB devotee here. The Kick Inside is my all time favourite album. Her music gives me goose bumps. I've just discovered her beautiful 'Another Day' duet with Peter Gabriel on you tube.

LittleMyMoomin · 02/07/2013 19:44

LOVE Kate!

I really would love it if she did a tour, or even one live performance, but sadly don't think she ever will :( Wasn't born when she did her one and only tour.

Cutiecat · 02/07/2013 19:50

Have loved her since I was a child and I agree about Woman's Work, gets me everytime.

I regularly play all my old faves to the kids. They love a bit of Fleetwood Mac and Wings too.

EleanorFarjeon · 02/07/2013 19:51

When I was a child, one of my older sisters had 'The Kick Inside'.

I absolutely loved 'the man with the child in his eyes' and can remember all the lyrics today.

She wrote it when she was 13. 13!!

JakeBullet · 02/07/2013 21:10

I have loved virtually everything she did, when she released Aerial after such a,length of time with nothing I was overjoyed. I absolutely love the second disc about an afternoon in a sunny garden, the lyrics are amazing.

Her latest album is beautiful but strange. It's one to listen to with headphones and not share with anyone else. Relaxation stuff.

My exH who used to be a massive KB fan now says "she needs a producer" but I disagree. Kate writes music that SHE likes, the fact that many other people also like it is a bonus. Even without the fame etc she would still write th music.. I think her uniqueness is about producing her own stuff and NOT having a producer in to make changes,

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 02/07/2013 21:20

YANBU

She's one of the best singer-songwriters, artists ever.

Hounds of Love was the album of my teens. Used to listen to it over and over in the dark in my room

pointythings · 02/07/2013 21:20

I love KB and have everything she has ever done. I'm not too sure about her last one - there were two or three tracks on there that made me think 'YES!!' and then equally two or three others that made me think 'get to the point, love'.

But Aerial was a work of towering genius. I think The Dreaming is my favourite of all her albums, but they all have their moments - as does the entire second half of Hounds of Love, especially Under Ice.

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 02/07/2013 21:20

I'm going to have This Woman's Work at my funeral

Patchouli · 02/07/2013 21:21

I just can't get on with the Snow CD though.
I think I was looking forward to it too much.
I was disappointed at her son singing - if I'd wanted an album by a boy singer I'd've bought one.
I guess in her position you can be that self indulgent and not care too much about it though.

CustardOmlet · 02/07/2013 21:30

Have fond memories of doing the Wuthering Hights dance in my school library, love her to bits.

ProperStumped · 02/07/2013 21:47

I bloody love Kate Bush.

I had heard a rumour that she was performing in the Olympics opening ceremony, although I didn't really believe it, as I know she doesn't perform. I was in the kitchen, and when I heard the opening bars of Running Up That Hill from the living room, I nearly broke my neck to get to the tv. And it wasn't her Sad

Love her. Would KILL to see her live.

iclaudius · 02/07/2013 21:50

She is just the best. Kick inside is probably my favourite ever album

Love love love her!!

iclaudius · 02/07/2013 21:51

Jamie it's such a tear jerker !!

TapselteerieO · 02/07/2013 21:56

She is wonderful.

SacreBlue · 02/07/2013 23:17

The Alan Rickman & Charlene video mentioned on another thread made me think of Donald Sutherland in cloudbusting so went and had a wee watch of that too.
