To expect DS1's school to give me more than days notice about clothing for sports day

Its on Wednesday. I've just opened his book bag to find a note saying his team has to wear a yellow t shirt.

I've just been up to his wardrobe to check (what I already knew) which is that we don't possess a yellow t shirt.

Am fuming - why could they have not told me this on Friday, when at least I have the weekend to sort something out. I'm working tomorrow and I don't have time to go and buy a sodding yellow t shirt.

FFS what is wrong with coloured sashes that they can bring out every year worked in my day

This kind of thing is a regular at our school.

I DO NOT possess a rainbow of different colour t-shirts in my child's size, neither can I bake 90 cookies overnight as I have work to go to, nor can my child produce a story similar in greatness to Riald Dahl. We only have limited crafting materials and besides...

...aren't YOU meant to be educating my child?

Roald. Sorry fella. Now the emphasis is lost Hmm .

We had one by email only last week! I only saw it at 10pm, but luckily we had the right colour.

Tubemole - emphasis not lost at all Smile

I ended up ordering a yellow t-shirt from Next - being delivered today Had to pay £3.99 for delivery though Angry

I have sent off a stroppy polite email to school this morning conveying that I'm extremely fucked off my displeasure

This comes on the back of last week's request (which I had forgotten about) for toiletries for the school fair. With again, a days notice.

YANBU Louey. I just don't understand why schools can't be more organised, it's not like they've had the whole year to tell you Hmm I was annoyed at the same letter on Friday, but at least I had a weekend to deal with it!

I hate this.
DS1 and dd had no "house" colours and it was always a random coloured tshirt that I did not have.

Thankfully ds2 is in "green" house. His PE kit is a green tshirt. Problem solved Grin
