Ive only lived in this HA property for year but already Im so unhappy. In the last place I had rather odd neighbours, some random brother and sister thing going on and they used to stand in their kitchen and stare at my son when he was in the garden playing. She also knew when I went to work and when I came home and would always be in the garden complete with her lovely goatie beard ! I jest you not it was a beauty like something a wizard would be proud of. In his house I now have the rampant drum and bass playing shaggers. Why is it too much to ask to ask to be left alone and in peace to bring up my son. Am I turning into a miserable 47 year old ??

Confused a bit.

can you get an exchange?

cuteboots · 01/07/2013 13:00

I cant go through moving again being honest but surely to god do common sense and manners not exist anymore. If I want to go to a rave I,ll buy tickets. Sometimes you can hear every single word when the muisic is loud and the shagging is just so funny when you see them the enxt day

Yanbu.

Just had the weekend from hell, was going to post on this subject but sat on my hands.

We have greedy entitled parking neighbours(5 vehicles including a caravan in a tiny cul de sac) complete with welding dad, biting dog, spiteful children who like to hurt and a bullying mum who decided to rant on my doorstep because I've told my dc to stick up for themselves ie hit back.

It sucks!

Feminine · 01/07/2013 13:08

I'd talk to your HA then :) you've done a year, so I guess you can swap?

Good luck.

cuteboots · 01/07/2013 13:21

mrbuttercat- agree 100% it sucks like a massive dyson hoover. I havent had the ranting on my doorstep yet but that may be the next thing as Im not putting up with the music anymore.

I live in the country and I have people out of Deliverence one side and Jeremy Kyle contestants the other.

MrButtercat · 01/07/2013 13:25

Lets run off to the country and start up a commune!

A no dogs,no loud music,1 vehicle commune with a lock up for horrible children.

cuteboots · 01/07/2013 13:30

libertine73- almost spat my tea all over the desk laughing so much!!. I think my little boy made friends with a little boy who had Jeremy Kyle style parents when we last lived in the country. They left their 3 week old baby with me whilst they went to court to declare themselves bankrupt as I remember . I didnt know them at all and remember feeling it was all a bit odd them wanting to leave their baby with me when we,d only spoken over the garden fence a few times ! Hmmmm

Well, you could move of course, but if you don't want to. Re. complaining, they may not even realise fully the effect of their awful music, so you could enlighten them fully. I would do it pleasantly and politely, in writing, in person, etc, keeping copies. Be polite and composed but totally persistent. Wear them down till they get the message! Keep a diary blah blah, and complain to the HA also. I don't see why anyone should be forced to listen to loud drum and base, esp. late in evening/night. Don't be cowed! Read your tenancy agreement, there might be a clause about right to "quiet enjoyment" of your home! Some HAs and councils are pretty hot on that.

But I feel your pain. Sorry to hear story from Buttercat too.
