To be slightly annoyed that DH is watching Pitch Black...

Knowing that I hate it?
I've seen it before & really didn't like it, but he's just put it on without even asking me if I want to watch it. He knows I don't like it as he commented 'oh look, you're favourite' as he put it on.

Grin Sadly not, Giveityourbestshot, nor is anyone eaten by aliens. Even the baddie got dropped thousands of feet and survived. I don't need the commentary from two over-enthusiastic nerds either. But I have it. In stereo. I used to go to scary films with my friend, who was someone else's husband. She hated them, we liked them so that solved the problem nicely.
GiveItYourBestShot · 30/06/2013 00:20

I always think people being eaten by aliens greatly improves a film. How much better would 4 Weddings have been if Andie MacDowell got scoffed halfway through the final scene...

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 00:21

Do you watch films/programmes that he hates (Eastenders etc?)?

It's a fab film and it's going on my 'to get on dvd' list.

And it's not even scary and this is coming from someone who is easily spooked.

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 00:22

X posted - yes, GiveItYourBestShot, I'm pretty certain 4 weddings would be vastly improved by the addition of flesh eating aliens and most of Richard Curtis's work (apart from Blackadder). Grin

I live in a disparate house with one TV. We often have to make deals and accept that we are 4 individuals. For example, DS and I watched Alien the other night. Once he knew that the cat survived, he was fine. DD went upstairs and watched something twee on her laptop and OH was listening to music.
4 adults, one small house.

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 00:32

Also 3 adults and one tv here in a small house.

Eyesunderarock · 30/06/2013 00:36

So if one of you wants to watch something, does everyone have to agree, YouTheCat?
Or are you able to find something else to do whilst not whinging feeling put upon? I think it's only a problem if one person dominates all the time.
We had rotas when the children were younger. Grin

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 00:39

If one or other of us doesn't want to watch something, we'll do something else.

Eyesunderarock · 30/06/2013 00:48

Do you think the OP will work out an alternative, or just LTB?

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 00:54

She might take up crochet?

GiveItYourBestShot · 30/06/2013 01:03

Maybe one of these cutigurumis.deviantart.com/art/Crochet-Alien-Xenomorph-307302200

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 01:04

That is a thing of beauty and almost makes me want to learn how to crochet. Grin

RubyGoat · 30/06/2013 01:09

No, those aliens need to be part of a mobile, not crochet.
Twirling around and making shadows.

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 01:37

Aw Grin

Eyesunderarock · 30/06/2013 01:38

Could do without the echoing sound effects though.
Better than watching Pokemon any day.

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 01:42

Noooo not pokemon - I've had more than 10 years of pokemon.

Eyesunderarock · 30/06/2013 01:48

You amateur, DD discovered Pokemon when she was 4 and she's twentybloodytwo now. And she's infected her brother.

Eyesunderarock · 30/06/2013 01:53

Still, that's why we had a rota. Otherwise I'd have been stuck with Ash and Team Rocket every day.

YouTheCat · 30/06/2013 01:57

Yep Dd was about 6 but my friend's dd had been into it since 1996.

Dd is still into now. She's 18. She doesn't rate Ash though. Reckons he's the worst trainer ever. Grin

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 30/06/2013 02:16

Yabu. Pitch black is one of my all time favourite movies.

They're making another Riddick movie, out in autumn Grin

Unless he dominates the tv and you never get to pick you're being silly and need to learn to entertain yourself.... Read a book, browse the web, watch something on the laptop. It's really not a big deal.
