To think DD will be ok for a party two days after having 2 teeth out?

Poor DD is abuot to turn 9...her teeth are overcrowded and she has just had an appointment through to get two of the back ones removed. They are going to do it at the dentist's surgery where we always go.

Trouble is...the appointment is booked in for two days before her birthday party!

DD is not the toughest kid..she's a bit of a moaner and seems to get very bothered by things like mouth ulcers or sore throats. AIBU to just go ahead with her party and hope she'll be ok?

I could attempt to rearrange the appointment but the party can't be changed.

We are in another country, where GA is an acceptable choice and I was given the option of ga or sedation. The dentist said either was was completely appropriate for my DD and it was my decision. I went GA because she is going to need quite a bit of dental treatment as she ages due to her jaw shape and I didn't want to start off with any negative feelings. She's only 5 though.

My DS had 6 teeth out under GA (perfectly acceptable here in the UK too) and was fine the next day.

6 teeth at once might merit GA and idocrazythings your DS was 5 not 14

the NICE guidelines in UK do not recommend GA for dentistry in child over 5/ school age unless there is a particular reason as mentioned above
