You were toldConfused

Numberlock · 26/06/2013 18:50

You meant should you have been told immediately after it happened rather than waiting till the end of the school day?

Wellthen · 26/06/2013 18:50

Agree with valium. Would you expect him to wearing his dog pooey jumper?

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 26/06/2013 18:51

You don't think the note was telling you?

Although they really should have found a blasted carrier bag. His book bag is going to STINK!

valiumredhead · 26/06/2013 18:52

I thought the note was screwed up?

likesnowflakesinanocean · 26/06/2013 18:52

sorry I meant by school. the note just said sorry so then asked ds why the child was apologising, meant the jumpers been in bookbag till just now. as much ds doing for not mentioning it too though, they are 5

Did this happen to someone else too or are there 2threads about this?

Jinty64 · 26/06/2013 18:53

They could have left his jumper on and pinned a note to him. It might have made it easier to spot Hmm

officelady · 26/06/2013 18:53

Eeeww that is rank! I guess the phone call would depend on the age of your son - primary school age I would like to have been told before seeing the note/jumper. Older than that I don't think I would expect it. Where did the dog poop come from? If on school grounds I would also want an explanation of how it came to be there.
I work in a primary school & if something like this happened we would telephone parents to explain (or speak to them in person at pick-up time). And I think the soiled clothing should have been put in a carrier bag or even washed at school if it was practical.

valiumredhead · 26/06/2013 18:57

Definitely a plastic bag!

likesnowflakesinanocean · 26/06/2013 18:59

reckon it would air bookbag if I put it.on the line?

MadBannersAndCopPorn · 26/06/2013 18:59

So, the note was from the offending child to your son, rather than a note from the school explaining what had happened? That's how I read it. IF so, the school should have told you, through a letter or verbally. It's not up to a 5yo to explain that to you.

likesnowflakesinanocean · 26/06/2013 19:01

note was from another 5yo saying sorry I was mean to you so ds explained why. don't want to blow out of proportion is why I was asking Grin.

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 26/06/2013 19:02

I'd wash the book bag.

likesnowflakesinanocean · 26/06/2013 19:03

thanks valium wasn't sure if I could do or soap it down

OP posts:
MadBannersAndCopPorn · 26/06/2013 19:03

I doubt the school have laundering facilities, and may cause all manner of agro with regards to washing powder etc.
I wander if the school told. The parents of the child that did the poo wiping. I'd like to know if it were my child.
And yy to putting it in a carrier bag, fgs!

MadBannersAndCopPorn · 26/06/2013 19:04

Sorry for terrible typing, bloody tablet...

MerryOnMerlot · 26/06/2013 19:04

YABU

valiumredhead · 26/06/2013 19:05

Possibly wash it down with soapy water rather than washing machine?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 26/06/2013 19:11

I would be cross that it was just put in the book bag. When my ds1 was 7, he managed to get dog poo on his coat (they were told to put their coats down on the floor and sit on them, and he happened to have dog poo on his shoes).

The coat was handed to me directly at home time, tied up in a bin bag, and I was told what happened.

likesnowflakesinanocean · 26/06/2013 19:13

will do, I'm sure she did get a telling off hopefully there will be no more if they decide to close community access to field which is being discussed

OP posts:
ChippingInWiredOnCoffee · 26/06/2013 19:15

Yes - I would be expect to be told at pick up that this had happened and I would expect the item to be in a plastic bag, not directly in the book bag.

youarewinning · 26/06/2013 19:16

YANBU.

But I agree with poster who quiried if school knew about it. I'd ask teacher in morning if she knew - then depending on that conversation decide how to precede.

likesnowflakesinanocean · 26/06/2013 19:19

school knew as made to do sorry notes but I know they have different teachers at times of the day currently so could of just been that it wasn't mentioned Smile hopefully all be sorted. I do wish people would use the field properly

OP posts:
BlackeyedSusan · 27/06/2013 00:01

i would expect the jumper to be in a plastic bag and to be told by the school what had happened.
