to not leave a tip at a conveyer belt restaurant?

I'm curious - what would you do?

My boyfriend and I go to a little conveyer belt sushi restaurant every now and then. A waiter or waitress will show you to a stool at the belt and you help yourselves to food off it. You also help yourselves to green tea from the urn in the corner unless you want something else and then you need to ask a member of the waiting team walking around for what you would like. I just like tea so only have this.

If there is a dish that's not currently on the belt that you would like you can normally just ask the chef's in front of you to make what you want and they will pass the dish directly to you over the belt.

At the end of the meal, the waiter or waitress takes your dirty plates to the counter, totals it all up and then you pay. AIBU if I don't tip? I've not really been served or been provided with any service that I feel needs extra "reward" - not quite sure what word to use there. I realise that in some countries that tips are used to make up a person's wages but isn't that illegal here in the UK?

Anyway, AIBU if I didn't leave a tip? Would you?

No don't tip, the staff aren't providing a real 'service' and going out of their way to make your meal comfortable, just assistance when/if you need it. That is what they're paid to do, don't feel bad about no tip!
