Work releated

In our team at work there are 3 'workers, T, J and me' and 3 supervisors, we all work shifts, 2 days, 2 lates and 2 nights and three days off or 3 days, 2 lates, 2 nights and 4 days off.

We are on our 2 days, 2 lates, 2 nights and 3 days off.

On Sunday we were on a night shift and T asked if I could look at the work sheets to see who was in on the Monday night shift as she had the night off, J said he had the night off too. So I check the sheets and me and J are in, J is upset as he had booked the night when he first stared months ago, we told him to contact resources and see if they could sort it for him.

Fast forward to last night, I arrive and J is in, he is a bit pissed off as he has been told he has to work it (Something about his leave being on one system, but not the other and being missed by resources when they did the sheets)

(On a side note, I have been told I have to come in Wed, even though its my rest day. So I will be home after night shift(today), back in on wed(Tomorrow) and then off for rest day(Thurs) then back in for earlies(Fri)

Now the bit that matters and the bit I am asking if AIBU...

Last night it got to 5am(We work to 6.30) and supervisor told J as he had been messed about he could go home, it was quite quiet so I could cover his side. Bearing in mind he is now off until Monday. I was pissed off as I get to sleep after nightshift and then Im back in tomorrow, so I think I should have been allowed to go early instead...AIBU?

If J booked the night off ?Months ago? it was evidently for an important reason.

Sounds like the company?s mistake that he had to work.
Letting him off a bit early sounds like a nice gesture on the part of the supervisor. Presumably he didn?t have to let either of you off early?
Look at it from the point of view that J still had to work most of a shift that he hadn?t expected to work (and would have totally scuppered his plans).
You?ve only had to work the shift that you were expecting to work anyway.

True, and I know what your saying, I should be graceful about it. But I wasn't, I was a bit meh!! Envy

If I had not been made to work tomorrow, I wouldn't have minded at all.

Oh well I guess Im BU

YABU. Would you rather work your normal hours, or have a holiday cancelled at short notice and be allowed to go slightly earlier to compensate?

Sorry YABU. You've both got a rough deal, but he got the rougher end, so he should get the early finish.
