about some of the people on Fake Britain?

I don't even know why I'm watching it, but I am.

I get that people shop around online for a good deal. I do it myself. I'd buy something online that was maybe 10%, 15% less than it was in the shop, and think that was a wholesale discount or something. And I get how you then might end up with a fake product in that situation.

But I'm a bit Hmm about people who buy something like a wedding dress off eBay for only a quarter of the price of a dress in a bridal shop and then are surprised when it is a really obvious fake out of cheap material. Surely finding that you can order a £1200 wedding dress for £350 might start ringing alarm bells?

(Though I do feel genuinely sorry for the woman on the show, who seemed lovely, and for anyone else who has had their wedding day or similar ruined by fakes)

We just watched it whilst eating dinner and both DH and I said exactly the same thing, surely paying £100 for a Dyson fan that normally costs way over £200 might seemed a little too good to be true?

I didn't like the real wedding dress much but the copy was awful but again like you op I can't believe that she thought it was genuine at that price Blush

I do think that the likes of Apple are fuelling the trade in fake chargers, £25 for a charger! No wonder people buy dangerous copies for a couple of quid. I'd have thought that Apple have sufficient purchasing power to be able to produce a genuine charger for under a tender they could probably still make a profit if they charged £5.

some of the people are just trying to find a bargain and in this day and age i think most of us are in the same boat.

I used to work in a wedding dress shop and to be honest we bought the dresses for around £100 - £200 then sold them for sometimes 6 times as much, so once people get wind that they can try their dress on in a shop then buy it from what they think is the wholesalers on the internet, then not many people would go back to the shop and pay 5 times as much as you could on ebay. I know id buy it cheap along with many others who think they can cut out the middleman.

You'd be a bit daft if you believe a wedding dress actually costs £1200 though! unless it was made of gold and diamonds Smile most these days from high st stores are bought from china and shipped across, same as they are on the internet so why would you think it was any different until it arrives and it looks a show.

I also watched fake britain and wondered why she just didnt open a case through paypal and claim her money back Hmm and all that about her skin became so irritated and blistered, for that to happen so quickly seemed a bit dodgy.

I've bought USB cables and the like off Amazon and eBay that were only a few quid and I suspect they might not be the real deal, but that wasn't much money. But a third of the price for something expensive just scream "fake!" to me.
