i bit my tongue and left quickly.
i dont drink, smoke and am mindful to eat what i can so does that give him the right to judge my lifestyle?AIBU?

Iron tablets can be pretty shit. If you can afford it get yourself some spatone or floradix (?) Contains a much more bioavailable source of iron and doesn't bung you up/ turn your poo black.

I get that as well and it drives me nuts, but the blinkered attitude iof my old GP also very nearly killed me. Yes, I'm a long-term vegetarian, yes, I'm very very anaemic, but actually if they'd stopped telling me that I was anaemic because I'm vegetarian, they might have realised a bit sooner that I actually had severe undiagnosed inflammatory bowel disease and was quietly bleeding to death internally for several years Hmm If your anaemia is unexplained and iron supplements/diet don't sort it, it might be worth asking for tests to try and work out what's at the root of it.

As far as supplements go, Floradix liquid is fabulous, vitamin C greatly improves iron absorption and the tannins from tea interfere with it, so don't take your iron with your morning cuppa!

I've had a lot of people say "ooh you must be anaemic" etc because I'm a life-long veggie. Truth is, the only time I ever have been was when I was pregnant (which happens to MANY meat eaters as well). I did as a PP and took my tablet with OJ.

Liquid form of vitamins etc are more effective,
You could try floradix (might not be spelt right)it tastes nice enough, they have a wide range of stuff but I had one for iron when I was pregnant

Spiderlight beat me to it...could be vit B deficient too which might show anaemia results..
