This is sort of about Jeremy Forrest but could a judge make an order that means they can't marry.

She is being allowed to visit and her father supports the marriage idea. It's all very strange for various reasons.

Alisvolatpropiis · 23/06/2013 17:18

I wouldn't be surprised if they did marry.

Happened with a girl a few years older than me at school and the music teacher. He got caught, served a custodial sentence, they married when he got out. Have two kids now. She was 14 when it started (there was no evidence but she was). He slept with two of her friends, though only one of them came forward and confirmed this after it all came out when they were 18. He'd been told to leave the school he'd been a prior to mine because his unhealthy interest in the young girls had been noticed. That school allowed him to leave and act on it rather than deal with him themselves. Vile on so many levels.

Alisvolatpropiis · 23/06/2013 17:19

*18 but still pupils at the school.

Portofino · 23/06/2013 17:20

She allowed to visit him? Shock would not SS be involved?

edam · 23/06/2013 17:21

I know SS have stepped in to stop weddings where they believe one party lacks capacity (via a court order).

Doubt anything can be done for this girl once she's 18 though, but as everyone says, he'll probably have lost interest by then. Poor kid.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 23/06/2013 17:22

Yes, a wedding can be stopped if it is shown that one or both lack capacity.

MikeLitoris · 23/06/2013 17:24

Alis iirc you are in S Wales? Similar story with my music teacher. Were his initials DJ?

Alisvolatpropiis · 23/06/2013 17:25

Yes they were

McNewPants2013 · 23/06/2013 17:27

It's a shame nothing can be done to stop the wedding.

Small world isn't it Mike!

Alisvolatpropiis · 23/06/2013 17:28

McNew hopefully in a couple of years this girl will be beyond not interested. I find it utterly shocking her father supports the idea. Not a normal parental attitude.

MikeLitoris · 23/06/2013 17:36

! I never liked him. Always came across as a odd ball.

There was rumours of some inappropriate phone calls with a girl in my year. He used to sing songs.to jer in class.

Nothing was done about though. Very glad he was caught eventually.

littlewhitebag · 23/06/2013 17:36

In Scotland they can get married when she is 16. No parental consent required. He will, however be in prison which may be a bit of a stumbling block.
