They seem to be everywhere? I think we've got a nest in the loft but the pest control people say they can't do anything about because they are an endangered species!

I will have your bees. Post them to me.

TapselteerieO · 21/06/2013 20:36

Supermarket produce without bees.

FrankSpenser · 22/06/2013 00:11

I have a buddleja but its not in flower. not even buds.

I have two small lavender plants coming into flower very soon.

Id buy more flowing plants that are big, blooming and established if I had the money spare to do it.

I have to buy tiddlers and hope they'll grow.

Save yoghurt pots etc, punch holes in the bottom, use to plant seeds :o

Lobelia, marigolds, peas, beans, strawberries, raspberries...

Frank try growing Cerinthe, also known as Honeyworth. The bees LOVE it. Probably too late for this year though, it's just an annual but does re-seed itself quite well. It's also very pretty.

Souredstones · 22/06/2013 09:20

Local bee keepers should help remove them. They are endangered and they are lovely and they should be encouraged into gardens

bulletwithbutterflywings · 22/06/2013 09:29

A beekeeper might take them, my SD is a beekeeper and took a bumble hive for somebody last year.

Stillhopingstillhere · 22/06/2013 09:37

I like bees. Wasps nope, bees yes. We had a next just above our front door last year. Had to be careful as opening the door made them fly about and I could hear them in the hallway buzzzzzzzzzz they must have been in the wall.

They left us alone and we left them alone though. Bees aren't malicious like wasps. And they're cute and fluffy. Wasps are spiteful and I wouldn't mind if they were wiped off the planet.

Horsemad · 22/06/2013 09:45

They love lavender and I've got a geranium with purple flowers that they adore.

Got to encourage the bees!

MrsPennyapple · 22/06/2013 10:26

Sorry, previous post should have said Honeywort, not Honeyworth. Stupid phone.

Couldn't agree more Stillhoping, bees = nice, wasps = nasty.

TooOldForGlitter · 22/06/2013 10:32

gamerchick - what do you mean bumble bees can't see us?

bootsycollins · 22/06/2013 10:39

I love big fat fuzzy bumble bees so huge that you wonder how they managed to take off, so cute.
