To just want 5 minutes to put my pyjamas on?

DD2 is suffering the aftermath of an allergic reaction (we think - she is allergic to dairy and egg and had a strong reaction when eating a meal that contained neither). For the past 2 nights she has been waking every 45 minutes writhing in pain. She will only settle in my arms. This is back to the situation at 6 months before her allergies were diagnosed.

She's currently asleep in my arms, DH has gone to bed (it's 1am here and he's working early tomorrow), and I'm in for a long night. I just want her to go into her cot for five minutes so I can get changed. I'm quite willing to have her sleep on/beside me for the night - poor thing is in a lot of pain.

AIBU?

(Yes, I admit, I'm clearly trawling for sympathy, but it's 1am, I'm shattered and cold, so I can't be too unreasonable for that, can I?)

Mrsjay, she'll scream the place down if I do that. Which is also the reason she didn't get given to DH (he's the rock star during the day, can do no wrong in her eyes, and he'll do his best to pick up the slack when he finishes work tomorrow). I don't want her screaming because she'll wake DD1 who is already shattered as DD2 wakes her at 6 most mornings.

It's like DD2 has an inbuilt cot sensor - even when I get her asleep, she wakes up if I so much as think of putting her down!

Thanks all. Sympathy was much appreciated. After much rocking, cuddling and singing of obscure Irish folk songs girl has no taste in music, just like her Mum she has settled briefly in her cot. I'm finally in pyjamas & tucked up in the spare bed in DD's room. By the wriggling and grunting coming from the cot, I reckon I've another 5 minutes maximum before I've got company again. But at least I'm warm now Grin

All in all it was a pretty dreadful night, but she seems to be a little better this evening.

I'm smarter tonight though - I changed into my pyjamas before I even put her to bed. At least I'll be comfy if we have another bad night - although I'm not too sure how impressed DH will be when I turn up downstairs for our "date-night-at-home" (rugby watching Grin) in my fluffy pyjamas!
