Every Wednesday night, there is a local motorbike meet up. I have nothing against people on motorcycles, or even people on motorcycles who meet up and cruise around.
I do have issue with motorcyclists who remove the silencers from their exhausts and do huge circuits of the area, showing a blatant disregard for the speed limit. I live on a long straight road, and the speed limit is fucking FORTY MILES AN HOUR! Not 70!
The police do absolutely NOTHING!

Sadly not, but I do own some tile batten and some 6 inch nails! Grin
Or alternatively, I could just lie in the road and become a DIY speed bump! Confused

Yanbu! I live on a long straight back road and the twats on wheels round here are a nightmare. You can guarentee at least one near miss outside my home everyday. At the end of the day if the idiots crash it's their problem, but these near misses often involve an innocent careful driver coming the other way.

Then late at night they just repeatedly go up and down the road as fast as they can. I can completely understand your wish for a stinger. They are knobs.

WMittens · 19/06/2013 22:25

Not murder! Not to chop his head off. Just maybe knock him off the bike

And what effect do you think running into a taut wire would have at even 20mph?

WMittens · 19/06/2013 22:27

I knew someone who used to stand out on the road side in a high visibility jacket with what looked like a mobile speed recorder device. A lot of cars apparently used to brake quite sharply when they saw him. He wasn't harming anyone, threatening anyone, causing any hazard on the road, & I don't think it's illegal or anything.

Apart from causing motorists to brake sharply, increasing the risk of someone losing control or causing an accident?

And if he's close to impersonating a police officer, that is illegal.

Sparklingbrook · 19/06/2013 22:27

Um, I think all the things being suggested are in the minds of the posters. They aren't actually going to do it WMittens.

Wolfiefan · 19/06/2013 22:30

Don't forget if you get the yellow bird box you'll need to paint lines on road. Who'll flash a torch at them so they think they've been caught?!

quoteunquote · 19/06/2013 22:31

Our local parish council members have been supplied with training and a speed gun, by Devon and Cornwall police, and are allowed to use it any time in designated places around the parish,

Join the local parish council, ask the local constabulary for training and a gun,

The culture of accepting dangerous driving will continue to provide tragedies, by all means go as fast as you like, just don't do it on a public highway.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 19/06/2013 22:32

Oh. Dear.

WM It would be a none beheading wire obviously and they do more then 20mph..
I do have a heart you know

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 19/06/2013 23:48

Frankly I would put a beheading wire up if I thought I wouldn't go to prison for a very long time! There was some bastard haring round in circuits with no silencer at 7.30am on a sunday morning a while back! I was tempted to go outside and flash my tits at him! That'd scare the fecker into pissing off!

WMittens Police officers aren't the only ones to wear hi viz jackets & carry clipboards y'know!

I could be doing a traffic survey for the parish council.

For many weeks.

At very unsociable hours.

'Cos I'm community minded like that.
